Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

It's not just you, I get the same problem. When you turn on the "Warm White" channel after turning off the bulb it turns to the brighter "daylight" white color. You have to go to the device page, pick the bulb turn everything off and then turn on the warm white slider to actually get warm white.

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

Krissh and Toille27: are you both seeing 2 devices (grouped together as tabs) for each Zipato bulb?

Can you define/sync them and copy/paste the Event Log results into a reply for me?

Matt, two tabs appear next to each other in the devices page. I'll send you a sync tomorrow .

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

Hi Matt.
I am also seeing the same behavior and UI.
To get this to work "properly" I have been tweaking this with action groups as long as I have used this device.. Always sending an off command before setting the rgb value, en brightness at the end. I spent quite some time trying to figure out how get it to work "ok". Below is my sync log.

Code: Select all
Z-Wave                          Syncing - started for "Light - RGBW Garasje Master"
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved module neighbors list: 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 22, 24, 25, 31, 45, 46, 47, 48, 72, 82, 88, 100, 113
Z-Wave                          Syncing - assigning return route to "104 - Light - RGBW Garasje Master"
Z-Wave                          Syncing - assigned return route
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved manufacture and model names: Zipato - 0131, RGBW LED Bulb - 00020002
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved protocol version 3.83, app version 1.05
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved class hierarchy: Routing Slave : Mulitlevel Switch : Dimmable Power Switch (04 : 11 : 01, base 26)
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved command classes: 20v1 60v2 73v1 85v1 26v1 27v1 70v1 72v1 33v1 5Ev1 59v1 5Av1 7Av1 86v1
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved encrypt commands: - none -
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved capabilities: routing, beaming
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved multi-endpoint types: 1:(11 : 01)
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved multi-endpoint classes: 1:[26 05]
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved group 1 associations: [1]
Z-Wave                          Syncing - group 1 association to interface already exists (skipping)
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved parameter 1 "Color temperature" is 50

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

What I think is complicating things here is that there are 2 different firmware versions with very different behaviors. There is the older version (module app version 1.05) which defines 2 different end points (personalities) for the device, and there is the newer version (module app version 1.06 and higher) that defines just a single device.

I'm not sure how the Indigo 7 changes are working with 1.06 yet. I know forum user opbzil has that one, but I think most others (haavarda, krissh, toille27) probably have the older more "eccentric" version.

For the older firmware I believe the 2nd device controls the brightness of white, and the color temperature of the white should be set via the Color Temperature edit field in the settings dialog. The first device should be used to set only the RGB components. I don't think you want to try to use the W or W2 sliders at all with the older firmware. I might try to get those hidden/disabled, but it is somewhat problematic since the device definition is shared with the newer firmware version.

For the newer firmware there will be just a single device and hopefully all the UI will work correctly.

It sounds like in the older firmware the module is getting confused if one of the devices is controlled without the other one being turned off? Also just leave those W and W2 sliders at 0, I think.

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

Mine is also 1.05, so you are correct, sync log:

Code: Select all
Z-Wave                          Syncing - started for "Zipato lyspaere"
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved module neighbors list: 3, 5, 6, 14, 15
Z-Wave                          Syncing - assigning return route to "010 - Zipato lyspaere"
Z-Wave                          Syncing - assigned return route
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved manufacture and model names: Zipato - 0131, RGBW LED Bulb - 00020002
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved protocol version 3.83, app version 1.05
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved class hierarchy: Routing Slave : Mulitlevel Switch : Dimmable Power Switch (04 : 11 : 01, base 26)
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved command classes: 20v1 60v2 73v1 85v1 26v1 27v1 70v1 72v1 33v1 5Ev1 59v1 5Av1 7Av1 86v1
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved encrypt commands: - none -
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved capabilities: routing, beaming
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved multi-endpoint types: 1:(11 : 01)
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved multi-endpoint classes: 1:[26 05]
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved group 1 associations: [1]
Z-Wave                          Syncing - group 1 association to interface already exists (skipping)
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved parameter 1 "Color temperature" is 50
Z-Wave                          Syncing - retrieved parameter 2 "Tapping sensitivity" is 16
   Z-Wave                          Syncing - complete
Z-Wave                          sent "Zipato lyspaere" status request
Z-Wave                          received "Zipato lyspaere" status update brightness 80
Z-Wave                          sent "Zipato lyspaere varm" status request

The 2nd device, if I remember correctly, used to be for warm white in Indigo 6. Now in Indigo 7 it seems that this 2nd device is just cold white.
The W slider seems to be for warm white, but that will reset any colors set, log output:
Code: Select all
   Z-Wave                          sent "Zipato lyspaere" set color to -- -- --, 57 --

Even with both W and W2 at 0, I can't set any color while the bulb is on.

Guess the workaround will be to make actions to turn it off before setting colors etc., like haavarda is doing.

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

Could it be programmed to be an option to select 1.5 behavior in the device settings? In that way you could separate the two firmwares...

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

I might be able to change the behavior based on the firmware version, but I'm not sure exactly what changes to make at this point. I'm a bit puzzled as to how the behavior has changed for you all in Indigo 7 so much. For Indigo 7 we added the RGB and W/W2 sliders to the first device, but if you ignore those (set them to 0), I would expect the behavior to be the same as Indigo 6. It doesn't sound like it is, but I'm not sure why.

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

Maybe it could be smart to set up a test? If we all test under the same criteria it is easier to determine how it behaves.

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

Mat, has something changed with this device? Since Indigo 7 I am struggling big time to set RGB levels...

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

Indigo 7 definitely changes how it works with RGB devices (new UI, actions, etc.), but your existing actions should continue to work. Try re-Define/Syncing it Indigo (no need to exclude/re-include it, just re-sync it). Does that help? If not describe exactly what you are seeing and include some Event Log window copy/paste snippets.

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

I am a little uncertain on how to do fault finding on this. If I try to change colour on the device UI it is working. But if I try to do it with an action group it does not change colour.
I dont know if the info below helps. Please let me know if you need any other data. I have tried to re include the device since I at one time thought it had gotten in to a bad state.

Below is some colour changes from the device UI:

Code: Select all
   Z-Wave Debug                    SENT setRgbColorValues: 01 10 00 13 78 09 33 05 03 02 FF 03 80 04 00 25 0E E9
   Z-Wave                          sent "Light - RGBW Garasje Master" set color to 100 50 0, -- --
   Z-Wave Debug                    SENT setRgbColorValues: 01 10 00 13 78 09 33 05 03 02 80 03 00 04 80 25 0F 97
   Z-Wave                          sent "Light - RGBW Garasje Master" set color to 50 0 50, -- --
   Z-Wave Debug                    SENT setRgbColorValues: 01 10 00 13 78 09 33 05 03 02 00 03 00 04 FF 25 10 77
   Z-Wave                          sent "Light - RGBW Garasje Master" set color to 0 0 100, -- --
   Z-Wave Debug                    RCVD requestMeterLevel: 01 10 00 04 00 0A 0A 32 02 21 44 00 04 E3 59 00 00 00
   Z-Wave Debug                    . .  requestMeterLevel: node 010, endpoint None, meterType 01, raw value 4400...
   Z-Wave Debug                    . .  requestMeterLevel: 3203.45 kWh (float: 3203.450000)
Z-Wave                          received "Dehumidifier - Garage" energy total to 3203.45 kWh
   Z-Wave Debug                    SENT setRgbColorValues: 01 10 00 13 78 09 33 05 03 02 FF 03 00 04 00 25 11 76

   Z-Wave                          sent "Light - RGBW Garasje Master" set color to 0 100 0, -- --

And now the colour change from Action group:

   Schedule                        _delayed_action_90
   Z-Wave Debug                    SENT setRgbColorValues: 01 14 00 13 78 0D 33 05 05 02 00 03 00 04 FF 00 00 01 00 25 18 78

Re: [SOLVED]: ZIPATO - Bulb LED RGBW Z-Wave

I was able to sort of use it reliably with Indigo 6, but after spending many hours trying to get it to work with 7, I gave up and bought an Aeotec bulb.
