[ANSWERED] Backup Z-Stick

I receiving authorization from Aeotec to share the backup/restore software, so here is the link.

I was also told to try running it As Administrator by right clicking on it, but I have not yet tested it. It looks like Aeotec is considering a Mac version, but no word when.

Forgot to mention, please read the read me file, you have to rename the setup executable.

I have a ZStick that will not enter inclusion mode, pressing the button simply lights the LED for 6 seconds. Im getting a replacement and have the backup application to move my network to the new ZStick, but the application it crashing on launch each time, anyone else having any luck getting it working, I an trying on a Windows 7 machine, running as administrator etc has made no difference.

Just tried this out on Windows 8 and Windows 7. It Appears to install OK but when you try to start it, it fails. I was starting it in Administrator mode.

I already sent e-mail to Aeotec informing them that the app keeps crashes only. I myself have not had an opportunity to test on a real Windows machine yet.

Yes, I emailed Aeon Labs and they said it worked for them and to try Windows Update They were using Windows 7 X64.

I am just applying the Windows 8.1 Update (Patch Tuesday) and will then give it another go.

They are still working on trying to resolve the problem. They are going to setup testing on a separate computer. I am hopeful they will have a fix soon.

Bad news from Aeotec

Just received an email from them that says there will be a delay in the development of the backup software and they don't know when they will complete it.

I am very surprised at their approach to this as it seems such a basic requirement.

That's disappointing.. i managed to drop my mac mini (don't ask how) onto the solid concrete garage floor last night and physically broke my Z-Stick.. it's still working thanks to some blutak and a conveniently placed cable tie, but i'm going to have to replace it soon.. i don't relish having to re-sync every device manually.

(PS anyone want to buy a slightly dented mac mini.. it only needs a new logic board, hard disk and case......)

I just tried the Aeon application to backup the stick and couldn't get it to work.

Is there a newer version of any info from Aeon about the possibility of doing backup-restore of the Z-Stick ?
