Re: Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor (ZW089)

Has anyone had trouble getting this to work? It's paired and synced after few goes but then does nothing. Doesn't respond to magnet and doesn't get updates when polled hourly.
Tried unpairing and factory resets but no luck.

Re: Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor (ZW089)

Note it won't respond to polling/status requests since it is battery operated and sleeps.

Re: Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor (ZW089)

Thought it would at least wake once an hour to receive updates and send battery status?. It's not doing that and doesn't respond to door magnet either.

Haha. Perfect. How did you add and sync? In one go from indigo? I could never get it to UK include unless I removed the zstick and did it on there.

Re: Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor (ZW089)

I am using a Z-Stick Gen 5 and did it via the Indigo add new device menu and embedded Define & Sync i.e. didn't unplug Z-Stick.

What device details does your device show?

Does the red light flash on the device when you move the magnet?

Yes the red light flashes and the details show exactly the same as you.

Think I've found one problem though. The Comm Enabled box was unticked. Not sure when that happened so that's probably been causing some issues.

It's just about the only complaint I have with Indigo so can't complain too much.

I've enabled and will so how this works now

No joy. It's unpaired and won't pair when using indigo new device option, even if sitting next to the Mac.
Will give it another go tonight using the zstick to pair.

Re: Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor (ZW089)

Ok. Much testing later and I've found there problem. It only communicates if it's within a few cm of the z-stick (1" for those using old money)
When that close it immediately sees the sensor changing state. However if I move it further away, only 10cm then it doesn't communicate. I have zwave watcher on it and nothing happens. Move it closer and it works.
Battery is saying 100% so I'm at a loss to the problem.

Re: Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor (ZW089)

It might be worth checking the battery with a voltmeter.

Have you include it in encrypted mode, if so might be with trying unencrypted.

Are you using a Gen 5 Z-Stick?

Final suggestion is a factory reset and start from square one. :)

Of course, it could be a dodgy device? :|

Re: Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor (ZW089)

It's a 3v 800mah battery and does 2.8v when the device is powered so seems ok.

Might try a new battery just to test otherwise back to Aeotec.
