Error with DSC Config

I have a Power832 with the Escort Module and PC5401. I'm switching from HomeSeer's DSC plugin. I'm using the Indigo 5 Beta 7 in trial mode.

Everything seems to be working great except when I arm the system in stay mode the State of the "Alarm Keypad" device switches to exitDelay but never shows as armed once the delay is over. Is this normal?

Thanks

It works fine for me. Keypad state switches to armed, and keypad line 2 switches to in stay mode.
Trie to reload the plug in.

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

Thanks for checking. I reloaded the plugin, rebooted and tried with debugging enabled in case the log shows any hints of the problem. Here area couple of screen shots from before and after arming in stay mode. I also noticed that other lines (LEDArmed, etc) don't reflect what the LCD and LED states are. ANy pointers would be great. Cheers :D

Is it possible there is something wrong with the PC5401?

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

When I installed the PC5401 I just connected the four wires to the DSC bus. Is that all that is required? DO I need to enrol/register it with the panel?

It's weird because everything else is working fine except the LED, LCD and state :?:

I wondering if I should buy an IT100 and try it instead.

Definitely buy a IT100. It replaces the CP5401.
No enrolling required, the panel does not care if its connected or not. It's not monitored.

Just a followup on this. I switched the PC5401 to an IT-100 and now the following extra features are working:

  • LED status
  • LCD Lines 1 & 2
  • Armed Status

Not sure why this solved the problem (maybe my PC5401 was faulty) but I'm happy its all working and now I'm enjoying this awesome plugin. Thanks for all the hard work.

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

I am moving to Lion and I can't get the Keyspan serial adaptor to work with Lion. Is there another serial connection that i can use to control the DSC?
Will these work?

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

No, I'm pretty sure you have to use the Keyspan driver for their hardware. Have you tried this beta Keyspan driver?

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

Oh, FTDI compatible adapters work well on the Mac also. I thought you were trying to use the FTDI driver with a Keyspan adapter.

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

Hey Guys

Sorry for the NooB question I was getting a little confused with all the various workarounds/updates on this thread.

I have a DSC Power832 alarm.

1 of the thread says that Envisalink makes a module that mimics the IT-100/TL-150 called the Envisalink2DS (http://www.eyez-on.com/EZMAIN/envisalink2ds.php)....backwards compatible with IP100D.

I would prefer to not use a serial adaptor due to distance to server.

Does this module give me the required ability/info in order to integrate the DSC plugin on this thread with Indigo 5.?

Do I need anything else.?

ps....Guys at eyezOn tell me a software upgrade coming within 30 days that should give full compatibility with previous modules.

Cheers......Ian

You need a T-100 to get full control of your alarm with indigo 5.
Distance is not a problem, you run a key pad wire 4 conductor from the alarm, to the server, and connect the T-100 near the server.

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

Just hooked up the TL-150 tonight and cannot get Indigo to communicate with it.

The error is:

Code: Select all
DSC Alarm Error                 Error in plugin execution ExecuteAction:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "plugin.py", line 79, in methodArmAway
  File "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 5/Plugins/DSC Alarm.indigoPlugin/Contents/Server Plugin/DSC.py", line 524, in actionArmAway
  File "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 5/Plugins/DSC Alarm.indigoPlugin/Contents/Server Plugin/DSC.py", line 106, in sendPacket
<type 'exceptions.AttributeError'>: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'write'

Any ideas on this?

I am using Indigo pro 5 beta 9
I can see the plugin
I have added the keypad device and can see the correct status

Thanks,
Chris

Re: DSC Alarm Plugin

I am now getting a new error. I was using a trial version of Indigo and wasn't sure if that was causing the problem. I uninstalled everything and installed a purchased copy of pro 5. This time the config screen works which it didn't before. I am getting this error:

Code: Select all
Error                           unknown command bytes received 19 78 (ignoring)
Error                           unknown command bytes received 60 19 (ignoring)
Error                           unknown command bytes received 60 19 (ignoring)
DSC Alarm Error                 Error in plugin execution runConcurrentThread:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "plugin.py", line 91, in runConcurrentThread
  File "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 5/Plugins/DSC Alarm.indigoPlugin/Contents/Server Plugin/DSC.py", line 594, in startComm
  File "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 5/IndigoPluginHost.app/Contents/PlugIns/serial/serialutil.py", line 147, in readline
  File "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 5/IndigoPluginHost.app/Contents/PlugIns/serial/serialposix.py", line 452, in read
<type 'exceptions.OSError'>: (35, 'Resource temporarily unavailable')

DSC Alarm Error                 plugin runConcurrentThread function returned or failed; will attempt again in 10 seconds

Could it be the PowerLinc Modem? I am using an ftdichip.com driver.

Thanks,
tnvol
