I've never been particularly fond of alcohol but I did used to enjoy the occasional bottle. Sad thing is its not even produced here in Newcastle anymore. How can you have NEWCASTLE brown ale when it's made nearer to howardps town which is like 2 hours away or something.

I guess this is the U.S. vs. European geography talking, but that sounds reasonable to me... heck, we consider myself and Terry in the same region ("Deep South") and he is likely to be at least 4-6 hours away depending upon where in the state he is located.

Exactly, we think nothing of a 4-6 hour trip 'round these parts. I'd be like "Hell y'all, the Newcastle brewery is only 2 hours down the road, who's in???" I make regular (weekly) trips to/from Atlanta, Ga and that's almost 3 hours. A coworker just left today, driving the family to Disney World in Orlando Florida, which will be 9-11 hours of driving for him, depending on traffic. Durosity, how many countries would you drive through in that time?

Adam, I live a little Southwest of Birmigham, BTW. Close enough to have a B'ham address, but geographically 30-40 minutes away. Oh, and the only bad thing about driving to Louisiana? I have to drive through Mississippi to get there!

As a side note: Does anybody still offer those sharable user maps that would allow us to all post our (general) locations on one big world map? Those were everywhere several years ago, it would be cool to see where all the Indigo nation reaches! #IndigoNation

So at work, I've been decommissioning a data center. As we were clearing out the last of the cabinets I ended up with TWO HP DL980s, each with 8, 10 core processors (80 cores total each box) and 1.5 Terabytes of RAM. Yep... I've got 160 cores and 3 terabytes of Ram in two gigantic servers sitting in my garage... That's not all... I also have a Sun/Fujitsu SAN with almost 100 TB of SATA storage and fiber channel connectivity back to the DL980s. This is on top of the HP DL 580 that is already running (4, 10 core processors and 512Mg Ram) and 4 mac minis....

I'd love to do something with the 980s, but short of selling them, I'm at a loss. It's not like I can legally run OS X on them, but -wow- wouldn't that make the world's fastest Indigo box! Realistically I'll have trouble even powering them up as they each have 8 power supplies. Any creative and fun suggestions????

On a side note, it's positively sickening what I scrapped in that DC. Equipment that I dreamed of owning in previous companies was simply tossed into the scrap heap. The technology hoarder in me saved enough that I can no longer park in the garage, but it still made me sad...

I bet Adobe Flash Player could bring them to their knees. Or an Excel document with a few thousand non-computational cells. If they have active formulas then you might get a few hundred.
