Indigo 5 does support the PowerLinc 2413U (that's the Indigo 5 docs page).

If the interface config window shows "port not found" with my 2413U connected does that mean the modem itself is bad? (I've tried downgrading from OS X 10.13.2 to El Capitan, using a USB2 hub as suggested & using a different USB cable). It actually had been working fine on 10.13.2 until today (of course the day before I go away.)

Indigo 7.1.1 (also tried v6)

Are you following the tales here from people who have serious problems with 10.13.x? viewtopic.php?f=104&t=19012 among others.

One of my installations ia Indigo 7 on a mac min 16g runing Sierra. My modem is the 2413U and it is now giving me an error that its can't connect to the serial port. This is a very very remote head;ess installation. I triedreinstall the FTDI serivers. They should succeessfil installtion but those drivers dont show under the listt of interface. I assume they aren't active if the 2413U died.. Its jsut over two years old so I am thinking, it like most of my otheri insteaon modems has died Is this the probably situation?

Thanks for quick response. I am running Sierra not High Sierra.. It was working fine I did a update to 10.12.6 Then the interface issue arose. I am assuming that the modem died as they have a habit of doing

Sorry, my eyes inserted the 'High' given the quantity of issues we've seen.

It's possible the PowerLinc has died. A few more things to try if you have direct access:

  1. Look at the LED - if it never comes on then it's likely dead
  2. Try a factory reset
  3. Switch out USB cables and USB ports

I have just lost my Insteon functionality. Big problem. The 2413U is just six months old. Everything was working until I updated my iMac to 10.13.2. When I rebooted the PowerLinc would not work. I checked configuration, screenshot attached. I think the usbserial is the right choice, but maybe not. I remember getting the SLAB driver some time ago, but I think that is no longer the right one. In any case, I tried both and neither allows the PowerLinc to work. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

It seems like more people have problems with USB devices and High Sierra than don't. Have you checked this thread? I know Jay updated it today.

I tried unplugging and plugging back in, switched to different USB port on the iMac, unplugged and plugged the 2413U itself. Nothing seems to work. I believe I recall Matt or Jay saying way back that the SLAB driver is not needed with 7.0 and above. Is that correct? So the configuration shows usbserial-A600B3PW. Not sure where that came from but that is what I have. Any other ideas to diagnose appreciated. I suppose the 2413U could have failed, but it is only six months old. It would be a coincidence if it failed right after I upgraded to the latest High Sierra.
