I learned about the 2448A7 and ordered one from Amazon. I plugged it into a Dynex 7 next to the z-stick gen 5. It works fine. It takes quite a while to re-establish and update links. Many devices need a separate Define and Sync. The performance is noticeably slower, but it works. I talked to SmartHome. They said the 2448 is discontinued and there are no follow on plans for the 2413U. Seems they need to think about their strategy. I would happily change everything to z-wave, but to my knowledge, there is no equivalent to the keypadlinc.
