type of device

When I try to

Code: Select all

set x to type of device "the device"

Script editor changes type to

Code: Select all

action type

What am I doing wrong here?

Another AppleScript terminology conflict. The action step property action type conflicted with the device property type.

I've fixed this and posted a new beta build. You will probably need to open any scripts that you have that use the device property type, make sure they have the correct source text (type, not action type), then re-save them.
