AppleTV Plugin: discussion

We used it not two hours ago.

The Ip interface( iPhone tv remote) might hang, the rest of the Apple TV works

When you try to use your iPhone to change channels etc works the plugin likely works.
And visa versa

Seems to be discovering the AppleTV OK.

How is the device supposed to work? When I create an AppleTV device, it says "overwrite IP" (and other fields) but it doesn't let me select the already discovered device.

You need to edit the device if you want to manually overwrite the Ip number etc. The PIN number is not yet used. You normally don’t need to touch any of the device edits.

The the things ( actions) you can do are described in plugin/menu/ help

In summary
- the states show you what is currently going on in your Apple TV.

- though menu or actions you can send commands to the Apple TV. The commands more or less reflect what you can do with iPhone’s tv remote app

It was not documented anywhere that the plugin automatically creates the devices. I was trying to create one, not edit an existing one.

You need to document that, and log it (in the normal Indigo log) when the device is created.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought the help said that. But I guess my communications skill are wanting.
