OK, did your above steps, and deleted the pref file: com.schollnick.indigoplugin.Thermostat_Addons.indiPref

The only change to report is that the install DID NOT default to de-bug mode ON this time. But still no data.

Above you state
You need to delete the preferences for the plugin, and the devices

Devices plural? Is this a typo, or are there suppose to be more than one device?

There is the possibility, since the Thermostat plugin was one of the first plugins I started working on, that there could be one or two thermostat plugin indipref files, with slightly different names... The name of the plugin changed shortly after I rewrote it as a v5 plugin.

This is certainly odd. Could you email me your Indigo database file to Benjamin AT schollnick DOT net?

I think I'll need to take a look and see if I can find out what's different in your setup...

And, FYI, the newsletter isn't really that recent - we've been doing them 3 times a year for the past 3 years. The goal is quarterly but as Matt says it's hard to find the time to get them out that regularly.

Re: Thermostat Enhancement Plugin

@bschollnick2, In comparing our hardware I noticed that your Venstar adapter is 92 (i2) and mine is 95 (i2CS).

Is it possible the plugin is not compatible with the new (i2CS) firmware engine?

If that's not the case then I will re-visit this issue later in the year when I migrate to a new MAC. I will let you know then if the problem is still there or has gone away.

Thanks for the contribution.

I can't think of any reason why it would....

That's one reason I would like to examine your database, to see if the naming of the device type has changed... And so I can simulate your environment to see what is breaking...

Re: Thermostat Enhancement Plugin

I believe I am experiencing the same problem as CraigM. I have also tried the recommended procedures and have not had any luck. I love the concept and originally had an early adapter that I didn't think should work so after receiving a recall replacement version 95 (i2CS) I was hoping to get this to work. If you would like any further information on my configuration I would be happy to share if it would help in any way.

As I mentioned to Craig, I really need to see someone's database, that is having this issue.

If your willing to send me a copy of your database, I can try to debug this to see why it's happening... I can't duplicate the issue here, without simulating your environment... If your willing, please zip your database file up, and send it over to Benjamin AT schollnick DOT net...

I do plan to add some more enhancement's, including multiple thermostat support... But at this time, I am working on Find My iDevices, and Switchboard...

Re: Thermostat Enhancement Plugin

Well, I found part of the problem, with some of the newer thermostats....

The 2491T7E Thermostat has a different model string.... So that was being rejected, since the plugin was not aware of that particular Thermostat model...

I am currently working on v1.05 of the Thermostat Enhancement plugin, which will support multiple thermostats...

But, the big issue here, is that I only have one Thermostat....
So, I would appreciate it, if anyone that has multiple thermostats, please contact me at Beta AT schollnick DOT net, and please volunteer to test this... I would greatly appreciate it.

I am hoping to have a version ready for test this weekend...

Re: Thermostat Enhancement Plugin

I am releasing v1.10 of the Thermostat Enhancement Plugin.

The major change in v1.10 is multiple thermostat support... In addition....

  • Added automatic Device State updating
  • Added preliminary support for multiple thermostat support. You will need to update your Thermostat Monitor device with the thermostat to monitor. Just open the Device, and choose it from the pull down, and then save...
  • Multiple thermostat support is still in beta. Please contact me if you run into any issues!!!
  • Added support for the 2491T7E Thermostat (Venstar Integrated adapter).

I tried the new plug (1.10) making sure to select the thermostat. I only have one so I can't speak to function with multiple. But I still am not seeing any data collected. I removed the the plug in and deleted the preferences as described previously just to make sure but still no luck. I am running a combination of and older T1800 (3 years maybe) with a recent adapter (2441V Firmware: 95 i2CS).

Don't know if any of this is helpful but can provide any additional data if needed.

Can you send me your database file, so that I can check what device id of your thermostat? Please send it zipped to benjamin AT schollnick DOT net, and I'll send you an updated plugin to test....

* From the Indigo Plugin's Menu, Choose Open Scripting Shell.
* type in 'print indigo.devices[1198387351]'

Cut and paste that output here, or in a private message, or an email to me at Benjamin AT schollnick DOT net.

I need the indigo.model name....

For example:

coolIsOn : False
