Re: Indigo Weather Conditions

The error from the default weather service, might be because I placed it in Plugins (Disabled), restarted the Indigo Server, and enabled it manually in the GUI. Whereas in the readme.txt you say to place it directly in Plugins directory and restart.

Also, I had already replaced the old versions IWS plugin with the new versions IWS plugin....

Code: Select all
ls -la /Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 5/IndigoWebServer/plugins/Weather-Conditions/
total 48
drwxr-xr-x  12 root  admin   408 Jun  7 18:29 .
drwxrwxr-x   3 root  admin   102 Jun  7 22:52 ..
-rw-r--r--@  1 root  admin  6148 Jun  7 18:29 .DS_Store
-rw-r--r--@  1 root  admin    21 Jun  5 09:43 __init__.py
-rw-r--r--@  1 root  admin   232 Jun  7 08:34 __init__.pyc
drwxr-xr-x   5 root  admin   170 Jun  7 09:55 css
drwxr-xr-x   2 root  admin    68 May 27 18:07 images
drwxr-xr-x   2 root  admin    68 May 27 18:07 js
-rw-r--r--@  1 root  admin  3436 Jun  7 18:22 reqhandler.py
-rw-r--r--@  1 root  admin  3601 Jun  7 08:34 reqhandler.pyc
drwxr-xr-x   2 root  admin    68 May 27 18:07 static
drwxr-xr-x   8 root  admin   272 Jun  7 09:55 templates

The contents of the zip file are odd:
unzip Weather-Conditions%20v098.zip
ls -la
drwxr-xr-x 5 bdaniels staff 170 Jun 7 18:28 Weather-Conditions v098
drwxrwxr-x 3 bdaniels staff 102 Jun 7 18:29 __MACOSX

What is the __MACOSX folder for?

Indigo 7 w/ Dual-Band 2413U PLM
macOS High Sierra 10.13.x
2011 iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7

That shouldn't matter.

The Weather-Conditions IWS folder, really needs to be updated to the latest version. I can't tell if your saying that you updated it for 0.95, or for v0.98. But that wouldn't cause the pickle error.

The pickle error refers to being unable to write to the IWS folder....So that makes me think there's a permissions issue...
Are you running Indigo, while being logged in with a non-administrator account?

That's perfectly normal. The __MacOSX folder is made by MOSX when creating the archive. It contains the metadata for the folder / files. It's the equivalent of the .DS_STORE file, for the Zip file. (Technically it's not a folder, but that's the way it's stored in the zip file, since zip files can't contain metadata beyond what is defined in the ZIP file definition.)

Re: Indigo Weather Conditions

OK - naive user question...

Everything installed fine, but I can't figure out how to use it! I understand that the plugin is supposed to produce web pages, but I don't see any instructions on how to access or create these, or how to integrate these data into my other control pages.

Any hints are appreciated

Assuming everything is installed fine.... Make sure that Indigo has been configured with:

* Allow Remote Access is turned on
* Is "Override Web Server (HTTP) port number turned on? If so, make a note of the port number

You should be able to go to http://127.0.0.1: number>, if "Override Web server" wasn't set, it should be 8176

So try going to http://127.0.0.1:8176....

You should see the Indigo web server, and one of the options at the bottom will be for the Weather Conditions plugin..
