Pioneer plugin with VSX-824?

A craigslist find prompts me to ask if anyone has successfully used Nathan's plugin with a Pioneer VSX-824.

I believe all the models up to 2015 should work fine.. (this appears to be a 2014). If it doesn’t it may well work with the Yoko Ono one like my 2016 model (VSX-1123)

Onkyo one. Damnit every time I misspell Onkyo auto correct assumes I’m talking about Yoko Ono.
