Hue Hub Reset or Replace

Hey,

My Hue hub seems to be getting flakey these days and dropping off my network.
I can always get it back online by powering on/off. Thinking of trying a reset to default
but am not looking forward to completely re-doing a ton of programming and adding
the lights back in.

Anyone ever done a reset or replace a hub and have any advice on the least painful
approach to restore everything?

Thanks,

Carl

Re: Hue Hub Reset or Replace

Hi Carl.

I don't have any advice on this topic as I've not had any intermittent network issues on my Hue hub. I just didn't want your post to go unanswered. I did migrate settings from the old hub to the new hub (that supports HomeKit) many months ago after HomeKit support was announced. That migration wasn't entirely successful (I don't remember exactly what the issue was) and I ended up resetting things on the hub and starting from scratch at that time. Of course, for me, with only 7 lights to re-pair and 2 groups to create, it wasn't a big deal. Larger installations would certainly be more laborious.

Regards,
Nathan

Thanks Nathan. Guess I'll have to try the migration and hope for the best.
Once the bulbs are re-paired might I be able to select them for all my
current Indigo plugin programming?

Yes. Once the bulbs are re-paired, you'll need to open each of your Hue Lights devices in Indigo and re-select the correct Hue bulb. No need to delete and create new devices in Indigo.
