Hue bulb not online

Hue bulb not online

Since a few days I see ever and ever that some of Philips Hue bulbs are marked red as "online: false":

Normally this state changes on its own to online: true -- mostly if there is an action called on that bulb. But it seems that there is something not really ok :roll:

Hi Simon.

The device turns red and shows as "disconnected" because that is what the Hue hub is telling the Hue Lights plugin (i.e. the Hue hub is having a hard time keeping track of the bulb). I've seen similar behavior before myself in my own Hue system. It happens either when the bulb is out of range (or almost out of range) of the Hue hub, or there is a great deal of radio interference preventing the Hue hub from monitoring the bulb. Try re-orienting the Hue hub or (if possible) the lamp in which the bulb is located. If the bulb is surrounded by a lot of metal objects, the metal could easily be blocking communications.
