ADT wireless sensors interface

Hi
I have an ADT security alarm that's not monitored but still works, my question is can those wireless sensors like the door and window switches and the motion detectors be read by the indigo hardware ? This would really be great! Please let me know if its possible and what is needed.

Thanks
Alex

OK I have not gotten any answers here, maybe I should rephrase the question:

1. Which door sensors can I use with indigo?

2. Can indigo work with commercial digital locks like schlage?

Re: ADT wireless sensors interface

I don't know the specifics of how the ADT wireless sensors work, or how/if one can patch in to them being tripped.

If you have wired magnetic reed switches which open/close a circuit, then you can use an INSTEON I/O-Linc or something like an EasyDAQ Relay card (some of them have digital inputs as well). The former sends out an INSTEON command which Indigo can trigger off of, so it won't be as reliable or fast as a USB hardwired solution like an EasyDAQ card.

Regarding Schlage -- I believe those are Z-Wave locks. Indigo is not currently Z-Wave compatible. But there is an INSTEON compatible lock called the MorningLinc with which Indigo can communicate.

Re: ADT wireless sensors interface

What is the model number of your ADT panel? Most of ADT's older panels are
actually Ademco Vista 20P panels. ADT's Safewatch Pro 3000EN is a vista 20P
with the ADT name on it.

Berkinet's new AD2USB plug in should work with ADT'S Safewatch panel.

Don't know if ADT's newer panels are made by Ademco/Honeywell, but if they are
they may also work with the AD2USB plugin.

Re: ADT wireless sensors interface

Matt;

The MorningLinc only accepts commands from indigo but the command cannot be verified to see if indeed it opened or close. Do you know when another digital lock will be supported. Also it shows you need a MorningLinc - INSTEON Morning Industry RF Doorknob/Deadbolt Controller (2458A1) that connects to your laptop thru an internet cat5 connection, I already have a insteon 2413 as the interface to my laptop (usb), can I use that instead of the 2458A1?

No, but we created the plugin architecture so that hardware can be support by Indigo more quickly (either by us, customers that are developers, or by 3rd party developers).

No, the 2458A1 is a special module that can send the MorningLinc RF command to the lock. It actually doesn't use cat5 -- it just plugs in near the door, receives the INSTEON command over the power line, then sends out the RF command to the lock. The diagram on the Smarthome page shows a Wi-Fi router but that is plugging in to the SmartLinc, not the 2458A1. The SmarthLinc isn't needed (and doesn't work with Indigo).

Re: ADT wireless sensors interface

Piggybacking on this thread.

I have a monitored ADT system with a Safewatch Pro 3000EN control panel. I also have the new ADT pulse system which looks like a wireless router with 4 additional wires to a non powered, unlabeled white box.

My questions:
What hardware would I need to integrate my system with Indigo?
What plugins can I use on the software side?
Are there any risks to compromising my existing security hardware or service?
Has anyone integrated with Pulse here?

I've attached some pictures of the pulse connections:

Can anyone help me with this question?

zwave door locks integration

Is there any update on integrating schlage or equivalent door lock with indigo?

Re: zwave door locks integration

There is no progress on supporting Z-Wave locks at this time. I plan to look into ZigBee locks here at some point -- most of the lock manufactures that make Z-Wave locks also make ZigBee versions. We'll see, but I have a hunch they'll be more reliable and have better range.
