Trigger Linc On Off State Question

I'm using a trigger linc outside of the house to email me when my mailbox is opened. Due to the distance I'm finding the reception of the "on"state intermittent but the "off" state always comes through (when the mailbox closes). Therefore, I used the off state to trigger the email but I'm finding the email trigger won't activate unless it sees the trigger link go to the on position first. Is this the way the software is designed to recognize the off state?

Re: Trigger Linc On Off State Question

That is correct behavior. The state only changes when Indigo sees an incoming message that the device has changed from open to close or vice versa. It's specifically designed so that you don't get multiple triggers off of the same event.

You can trigger instead off of the actual INSTEON Command Received from the TriggerLinc though.

Re: Trigger Linc On Off State Question

The insteon command received trigger is working great. Sometimes I forget about all of the available options. Thanks
