Stability problems

Hi,
I have been having some stability issues with the RFX plugin.

When I start the plugin everything is working great, but after some time it seems like all the RF devices drop out and appear as unknown device in the log.
When this happens I cannot use any RF switches etc. But if I use Indigo touch I am able to send a command to my light dimmer. The errors that you see below is just repeating until I restart the plugin.

It seems that this happens very seldom.
But is it possible to set up indigo to reload the rfxcom plugin if you have not received any signal the last 5 hours?

You can write a script that tells the plugin to restart. The you just need to create the logic that watches for the lack of change in the sensor.

The ID's the log comes up with, are that the right ID's of your devices or do the devices normally have other ID's?
If so, what are the right ID's?
Is it enough to reload the RFXTRX Plugin? or do you restart Indigo?
Do you use other third party plugins which could create this problem?
More questions than answers, I know, but I've never seen this problem except with my wind meter which changes device ID ever few weeks.

I am using Indigo version 5.1.6. RFX Plugin version 1.2.4

I've reloaded the plug-in multiple times. After reloading it, the error does not appear immediately. It may take a while.

I consistently get this error message. At first I thought it may be due to having local clients connected. However, I have since rebooted each of the local clients and still get this error. It appears the plug-in continues to work (at least sporadically) as temperature sensors are being updated.

RFXCOM Error plugin runConcurrentThread function returned or failed (will attempt again in 10 seconds)

The ID's the log comes up with, are that the right ID's of your devices or do the devices normally have other ID's?
If so, what are the right ID's?
Is it enough to reload the RFXTRX Plugin? or do you restart Indigo?
Do you use other third party plugins which could create this problem?
More questions than answers, I know, but I've never seen this problem except with my wind meter which changes device ID ever few weeks.

The IDs that returns error is the same IDs that is working fine rest of the time.
All I have to do is to reload the plug-in and everything is working fine again.
To me it looks like the IDs are "dropping" out, and suddely Indigo dosent remember them.
But it seams like the log file stops to update after a while (full?).
I dont use any other plug-ins at the time. And have limited rfxcom to only the nesesary protocols.

Indigo's log is never full - it will continue to log everything that is requested to be logged. The log window truncates the top after a certain amount of data rather than stop logging and the log file itself will just grow until there's no more disk space left. It rolls into a new file every night at midnight. Old log files are deleted per the setting in the General preferences tab.

I'm experiencing same RFXCOM stability issue. Works great at startup, after some unpredictable period of time or unknown event, it's like Indigo forgets all the RFXCOM devices and the error messages start, leading to slow Indigo performance, generally. Restart fixes everything.

Hmmm - that doesn't seem possible given the work of communicating with the RFXtrx is being done in a separate process by the RFXCOM plugin. When it gets into this state, open the Activity Monitor application and look to see what the CPU utilization is ("% CPU" column) You can filter the list by typing in "Indigo" in the filter search box in the upper right corner. You'll several processes: Indigo 5 (if the client is running), IndigoServer, and probably several IndigoPluginHost processes.

Post the CPU percentage for all in a reply post here.

after some more research and some more instability I have noticed something strange.

In the log file this appears before the rfxcom plugin drops out.

2012-10-27 21:53:33 Application Received sleep notification from system

And today when I logged in to the server via logmein I did not restart the plugin.
When I logged in the log was updated with a awake notification, and then the sensors started to update.

I have set system sleep to never, but put HDDs and display to sleep.
I use the server all the time with media, security spy, indigo and other server applications, so I dont think it is sleeping.
Can it be that Indigo think the computer is going to sleep?
