Dykie Sauna Sensor (433 HHz)

Before I begin setting up, wondering if anyone has been able to read from this device? Recently built a sauna and the Dykie (RS8718SN) display and one of the remote sensors has a probe designed to take sauna temperatures, seems there are very few on the market.

The interior and exterior LED lighting is controlled by Indigo. The last detail is to bring temperature. The wood, I will have to cut by hand... but it's worth it.

Re: Dykie Sauna Sensor (433 HHz)

During lunch I turned on the various 433 MHz options and no new sensors/errors showed up in the log. Is there a method to propose new sensors to the RFXCOM options? I'd throw a Oregon Scientific sensor in the sauna but it appears they no longer make a sensor with probe. Not sure the long-term health of a sensor with batteries is too good in a warm and often wet environment. Any ideas??

Maybe the Maverick ET732 or ET733 BBQ sensor can be used?
Or try to find the Prego P-8426 sauna sensor.

Looking at the Prego, the sensors look identical to the Dykie. Will play around a little more. Thanks for the suggestions. I have a Maverick BBQ sensor I use and have never tried bringing into Indigo.

According to my search OSI still makes their BBQ senwor

and that one works fine with the RFX... provided you keep the puck outside and just run the probe through a small hole in the wall. I don't think that battery life would be an issue, since it't probably using the same hardware as their standard nonprobe devices and those last for over a year in continuous use. Although I must admit we only use ours on the pit for 3 or 4 hours at a time even when doing briskets.

Re: Dykie Sauna Sensor (433 HHz)

Tried my Traeger BBQ remote sensor and it isn't recognized by RFXCOM. Might look at the OS Grill Right, boy I'll have to be careful where I place the probe! The Traeger has both a meat probe and BBQ probe, which is not sharp. Was really hoping my Dykie worked as it looks almost identical to the Prego. I didn't see a selector for Prego inside the plug-in page. But I tired everything and it's not picking up... oh well.

The Prego sensor is received with the X10 protocol enabled.
If possible try with RFXmngr on a Windows system.

Other supported BBQ sensors are the Oregon AW129 and AW131.
I'm not sure but I think this sensor will automatically switch off after some time.

Are you only looking for temperature readings? You could also go with a waterproof DS18B20 hooked to an Arduino, rPi, or 1-wire network.
