Re: LWRF wireless 1-gang dimmer switch?

My read of that is that it should be a switch rather than a dimmer and you're just getting on / off signals not a dimmer / brighter as well.

If you press and hold do you get multiple on / off signals?

Also have a look at the device entry and see what happens when you press the buttons. The bit that's changing there is what you're going to have to run your triggers off of.

Re: LWRF wireless 1-gang dimmer switch?

If I hold the buttons down, I get the following repeated, so I guess it is a switch after all and the dimmer functions are only supported with LightwaveRF infrastructure :(

2014-11-05 17:46:50.566 RFXCOM Debug Switch Command f44394-13 in list, command=Off
2014-11-05 17:46:50.566 Error device "test switch" state key command not defined (ignoring update request)

2014-11-05 17:46:50.567 Error device "test switch" state key lastUpdated not defined (ignoring update request)
2014-11-05 17:46:50.568 RFXCOM Debug ++++++++++++++

Thanks for the help with this everyone.

Last thing for it, give it a go as a Lightwave Remote.

Re: LWRF wireless 1-gang dimmer switch?

If your still having problems then it might be an idea to break the problem down into two....

1) Remove the LWRF Bulb and replace with a standard incandescent, then try and dim it via the 1-Gang LWRF Dimmer Switch

Once thats all working then

2) Re-Introduce the LWRF Bulb and try and control it

Assumption is that you are using a 240vac powered 1-Gang LWRF Dimmer Switches and not one of the Wireless battery ones??

Hi - thanks for the idea, but sadly it is one of the wireless 1-gang dimmer switches.

Version 1.6.1 is available here:http://www.rjdekok.nl/downloads/RFXCOM.indigoPlugin.zip

- Implemented MDRemote
- Blyss Lightning corrected
- A lot of orrections to the Bright/Dim and Setlevel commands (I hope this solves the LWDimmer problem)

Re: LWRF wireless 1-gang dimmer switch?

I am trying to set-up a LightWaveRF Dimmer Switch (1 gang).

I have installed the the dimmer switch and I can turn the light on, off and dim and brighten using the buttons on the switch.
I also get the pairing lights (flashing blue / amber) when I hold both buttons down.

However, I am unclear on how to connect this to Indigo.

When I enable debug logging in the RFXCOM plugin I am not seeing any commands when I press any of the buttons on the switch.
have I missed a step or is their something else I should do to connect it.

Previously, when I have connected LightWaveRF Mood Switches, I used the house codes etc from the log to define the Indigo device. As I am not seeing any activity in the log I am at a bit of a loss. :?

TIA for any assistance. :)

In case it helps anyone else, I will answer my own question. :)

NOTE: I originally posted my question in the wrong thread as the switch I am referring to is the wired LightWaveRF Dimmer Switch (1 gang) [SKU: JSJSLW400]

Unlike the LWRF mood switches the 1-gang dimmer switch doesn't transmit anything when its state changes or it is in link mode. So to link it, you define a RFXCOM > Lightwave Dimmer device and set it up with an address: e.g. House code (f000a1) and Unitcode (16).

You then put the LWRF 1-gang dimmer switch into link mode (by pressing and holding the two buttons on the switch until the less flash alternately) and then in Indigo just turn on the RFXCOM > Lightwave Dimmer device you have previously set-up. The blue LED light will then flash to indicate that the switch is linked to Indigo.

You can then use Indigo to turn on/off/brighten/dim the light controlled by the dimmer switch.

If you operate the dimmer switch manually, Indigo is none the wiser as no message is sent to indicate this has happened.

So I think the benefit of this switch is that it doesn't require a neutral and can be controlled by Indigo but the downside is you get no notification of manual operation. :)
