Rain Gauge OR-RGR126

Does anyone know if this one is compatible with the RFXCOM plugin?

It should be, I believe it's the same unit as the original I have (PCR800) just with a longer range antenna.

the 2 sensors are, I have exactly those. The display is not as it does not transmit any information.

Thanks. I've gone through my 2nd PCR 800 in 2 years.

So I decided to bite the bullet and buy the OS RGR-126 from Amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/Oregon-Scientific ... rain+gauge

From the pic, I was happy to see that the bucket itself had an external antenna which is why I purchased it. However, when it arrived, it had the same crappy internal spring antenna as the PCR 800. I was quite disappointed.

Re: Rain Gauge OR-RGR126

I had two and each died after ~ 1 year
... but figured it out what it is: the battery contacts are corroded (pretty bad for an outside rain sensor)
... but no solution yet. After wiggling the battery it works again .. for 1 day... need to may be solder the batteries to the contacts ? or may be we need special batteries with humidity tolerant contacts?

any suggestion?
