HomeEasy HE202s

Hi,

I've got some UK HomeEasy HE202s dimmer appliance modules lying around. I've tried to use these to give dimable control of a lamp but I'm struggling to get these to work. The lights come on to about half brightness and then dim down to zero and up again to about half on a cycle. When I send a command to achieve a specific value a similar thing happens.

I've selected the AC Dimmer type (AC Appliance module worked well for single sockets).

Anyone got any clues or ideas?

Chris

This is in the HE202 manual:
Dimming Receiver Sockets :
1. Using a paired remote control, Press the "On" button and press "On" again.
The unit will start the dimming cycle.

I'm not sure if this dimmer module supports the set dim level.
Do you have an option in the device control to set a dim level?

Re: HomeEasy HE202s

I think I've got to the bottom of it, it was to do with compatibility between the transformer used in the halogen lights I'd connected and the appliance module. It is rated as 'dimable' but having read a few electricians forums not all dimmers and dimable light fittings are compatible and the symptoms I observed were similar to what happens when they are not.

I tried the appliance units with a standard lamp and bulb and it works, the number values seem to work although it does not dim to 0, to do this you have to turn it off.
