Here's some more data from another install. I have nothing in plugs 1 and 2 (unswitched). Switched 1 (plug 3) is my Cable Modem, switched 2 (plug 4) is my Router, and switched 4 (plug 6) is my Tablo:

Sorry about debug Ross; I missed copying some code from another plugin - you shouldn’t have to reload plugin! I’ll sort that.

Thanks both for log/pics. I don’t understand why they don’t tie up so I’ll have to fine tune what I do log.

The powersocket states should only ever update if there’s a Format:34 or Format:74 and vice-versa (at the moment) so either state should be 0 or there should be a log snippet for Socket: 5.

(Format is a bit mask with several valid combinations that I’ll code to support other models later)

That's Indigo ZWave reporting 9.702w on outlet 3, then my plugin reporting 9.702w on endpoint 3, socket 5.

As I understand it:
Socket 1 = Endpoint 5 = Unswitched
Socket 2 = Endpoint 6 = Unswitched
Socket 3 = Endpoint 1 = Outlet 1 (Switched)
Socket 4 = Endpoint 2 = Outlet 2 (Switched)
Socket 5 = Endpoint 3 = Outlet 3 (Switched)
Socket 6 = Endpoint 4 = Outlet 4 (Switched)

Which looks ok at a data/plugin/command level - the only thing wrong is you said there's nothing in socket 5 but the device is physically sending a power reading from it?

So the power readings on Endpoints 1 and 2 are correct. I'm not seeing anything on Endpoint 6.

On mine I just checked with the new plugin and physical outlet #2 is empty but socket4 is the one with no reading.
Physical socket #1 has the small load on it and that matches socket3

I'm wondering if the sockets map weird...
socket3 = Unswitched #1 = Physical #1
socket4 = Unswitched #2 = Physical #2

Sadly with servers powering too much of the house I can't easily play with them.

I just ordered another strip to experiment with using my Kill-a-watt meter and a known load...it will arrive Wed.
Try to help narrow down exactly which sockets line up with what...

So the power readings on Endpoints 1 and 2 are correct. I'm not seeing anything on Endpoint 6.


Sorry, you're correct - I've just re-read Matt's post in the 2014 thread on this subject.

For on/off commands, endpoints 1-4 are the switched sockets 3-6.
For energy reporting, endpoints 1-4 are the unswitched sockets 1-2 and the first two switched sockets 3-4.

That's where all the confusion lies. I've been applying the on/off mapping where endpoints 1-4 are sockets 3-6 and thus endpoints 5-6 would (if they existed) be sockets 1-2.

I've just put 1.0.7 up at the same link... :lol:

Note there's a new Action to reset the power levels to zero which will probably be sensible before continuing.

Now I'm seeing power readings on 3 and 4, but nothing on 6. Does Endpoint 5 or 6 not work? Indigo doesn't see them so the plugin can't either?

The numbers I get seem to line up with what's plugged in now...

I'll test once I get the new power strip on, before I put it into use...

Great.

Can you both play with the totalpower/totalpowerrep values?

TotalPowerRep gets updated whenever it receives a 'total' power report from the device whereas TotalPower is calculated from the totals of 1-8.

I don't think TotalPowerRep is accurate because whenever an endpoint report arrives, I think it also sends a false "total" report of the same endpoint value.

I've asked Jay for a subforum in my plugins area.

State values that are getting filled in haven't changed. And I'm not sure that using your request commands actually does anything:

The commands are getting sent, but nothing is coming back as far as I can tell. When I use the "Update" button in the Indigo device UI, I do get something back:

In that example, I was asking for an update for switched outlet 4, but what I got back was endpoint 4 which is the second switched outlet (physical outlet 4).

There doesn't seem to be anything I can do that will get an update from switched outlet 4 (physical outlet 6, presumably endpoint 6 for energy reports).
