If you're trying to
send IR symbols
from Indigo, then the IP2IR is the right device, and you want to plug into that either a "bug" stuck on a particular device, or a "blaster" to fill a room with IR.
I'm afraid the "sensor in" feature is for reading dry contact digital signals; it is
not for reading IR signals. (The IP2IR has an IR "learning" feature, but that can't really be used to "listen" to a room for IR symbols.)
If you're trying to
recognize IR symbols sent by some other device (iRule or any other), then you need a GC-IRL (or GC-IRE) device plugged into a serial port, and the IP2IR won't do you any good. GC-IRL isn't an iTach product, though it could be plugged into an IP2SL if you're out of serial ports.
