Using iTach IP2SL or Wifi2SL

Hi,

I use the Cynical Cache plugin for my existing Wifi2IR ok, but I'm about to order an IP2SL for my new TV.

Is this plugin able to send and receive RS232 commands to the IP2SL? Or, is Cynical Network more appropriate? (Or, any other?)

Also do any of them support Python commands to issue serial inside scripts?

Peter

Re: Using iTach IP2SL or Wifi2SL

Ah, I've just found the sample for controlling TIVO on Perry's website, which tells me I need the Cynical Network plugin.

For future reference if anyone comes across this thread, I need to create a 'TCP Out' device with the IP of the IP2SL and port 4999 (for the first serial port; 5000 for the second port etc if you have a GC100 with more than one serial port)

Then I use the 'Send Text' action to send the RS232 data command(s).

(In fact, I've ordered a GC-100-6 which has 1 serial and 3 IR's on it for the same price as the IP2SL, which means my current Wifi-2-IR can go upstairs to the bedroom TV!)
