Hi Joe,

Sometimes I have a relatively long delay (+- 10-15 seconds) when starting an activity. Is this normal or is this due the authentication process?

Thanks,

Delay until something noticeable happens? Or until activity startup is complete? Do you get the same length delay if you start the activity with a remote or the mobile app?

I only go through the authentication sequence at device startup (currently). So I'd say that's just normal for the hub. I only send a single command to the hub to start an activity, so the delay isn't in the plugin.

Re: Harmony Hub plugin - BETA

The delay sometimes happens when I start an activity from the control page on the iPad. But it's strange because sometimes it's working instantly and sometimes there is a delay. But good to know the problem is coming from the plugin :)

Thanks!

Re: Harmony Hub plugin - BETA

Hi Joe,

I had to change the IP's of my HH's but I can't change the IP's in the devices. When I try to 'Edit Device Settings', the plugin freezes for a couple of seconds and times out.

Error (client) timeout waiting for plugin response from com.flyingdiver.indigoplugin.harmonyhub for request CalcDeviceFunc
Error (client) timeout waiting for plugin response from com.flyingdiver.indigoplugin.harmonyhub for request UiGetValues2
Error (client) timeout waiting for plugin response from com.flyingdiver.indigoplugin.harmonyhub for request CallPluginFunc
Error (client) runDialogForDevice() caught exception: NSInvalidArgumentException -- *** -[__NSPlaceholderDictionary initWithObjects:forKeys:count:]: attempt to insert nil object from objects[0]

Any idea (except for removing and adding the hubs again?)

Thanks,
W.

If you need a fix right away, you'll have to delete and recreate. Otherwise, I'll see if I can get an update out sometime later today.

Re: Harmony Hub plugin - BETA

v0.2.7 has been released to deal with this issue.

This version handles a bad IP address for the hub better. There's still a long timeout (over 1 minute) when attempting connect to a bad address.

Re: Harmony Hub plugin - BETA

I'm trying to get a handle on how many people are using this plugin. If you're using it, please post a reply. Any issues or requests are welcome as well.

Thanks!

Re: Harmony Hub plugin - BETA

I'm going to start using it heavily once I get the opportunity to chase down the input selection mess I've got on my TV with Harmony support.

Sonoma on a Mac Mini M1 running Airfoil Pro, Bond Home, Camect, Roku Network Remote, Hue Lights, DomoPad, Adapters, Home Assistant Agent, HomeKitLinkSiri, EPS Smart Dimmer, Fantastic Weather, Nanoleaf, LED Simple Effects, Grafana. UnifiAP

Re: Harmony Hub plugin - BETA

Using it and thanks for building it. Like the others I haven't had the time to really get to grip with Harmony itself yet but the plugin is the reason I bought one.

Re: Harmony Hub plugin - BETA

I have it installed and it is running but haven't yet got round to implementing it into any of my workflows.

It is on my extensive to-do list :D

Re: Harmony Hub plugin - BETA

Hi, would love for this to work, but I'm falling at the first hurdle - the plugin wont start. Seems that it cant find sleekxmpp:

Code: Select all
Reloading plugin "Harmony Hub 0.2.7"
Starting plugin "Harmony Hub 0.2.7" (pid 97697)
Harmony Hub Error               Error in plugin execution InitializeMain:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "plugin.py", line 8, in <module>
ImportError: No module named sleekxmpp

Though I have it and requests installed via pip

Code: Select all
sudo -H pip install sleekxmpp
Requirement already satisfied (use --upgrade to upgrade): sleekxmpp in /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages

sudo -H pip install requests
Requirement already satisfied (use --upgrade to upgrade): requests in /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages

I'm guessing it’s a path issue or something, any suggestions?

Thanks
