Re: Issues with special characters

In what way? Homebridge has problems with some special characters as well.

My Modest Contributions to Indigo:

HomeKit Bridge | Device Extensions | Security Manager | LCD Creator | Room-O-Matic | Smart Dimmer | Scene Toggle | Powermiser | Homebridge Buddy

Re: Issues with special characters

EPS - Homebridge Buddy Error Exception in cache.addWatchedAttribute line 204: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xfc' in position 1: ordinal not in range(128)
CODE: self.logger.threaddebug ("Adding watched attribute '{0}' to child device '{1}' being watched by '{2}'".format(attribute, indigo.devices[devId].name, parent.name))

Probably comes from "Licht Büro".

However I'm not using the tool right now, because my installation runs perfectly. Homebridge and Siri accepts Büro as expected. But I wanted to report this quickly so other can profit from the bugfix.

Nice plugin - makes everything easier - especially for beginners.

Re: Issues with special characters

I am also getting this error:

Code: Select all
EPS - Homebridge Buddy Error    Exception in cache.addWatchedActionGroup line 273: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xf8' in position 5: ordinal not in range(128)
                      CODE: self.items.addWatchedItem (parent, indigo.actionGroups[agId])

EPS - Homebridge Buddy Error    Exception in cache.addWatchedStates line 165: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xe5' in position 21: ordinal not in range(128)
CODE: self.logger.threaddebug ("Adding watched state '{0}' to child device '{1}' being watched by '{2}'".format(state, indigo.devices[devId].name, parent.name))

Unicode bug?

Re: Issues with special characters

Just FYI, I am still seeing this after the latest update. Not sure what it means, or if it has any effect...

Re: Issues with special characters

I haven't done anything for special characters, that message has been around since the initial release. It is on the list.
