Re: HomeKit Bridge Public Beta Now Open

Actually I think the opposite is going to happen, from what I've been reading Apple is going to open HomeKit up even more than it has, allowing software interfaces like Alexa does. Supposed to happen in 11.3.

Yeah I agree it's unlikely, but it's still always the fear they'll change their minds!

Leave the add device drop down as is (ie dont change to camera experimental one)
Choose a security spy camera device. Name it and then change device type from switch to camera. Then add to homekit and save.

If you see camera settings you have done step 1 wrongly. There are no settings for the correct setup.

I have updated to 0.18.0 and continue (present since I installed HomeKit Bridge 0.17.2) to have a glitch with a temp sensor. No matter what setting I use for the HomeKit Bridge server (C° or F°) HomeKit appears to always assume that it is getting a temp in C° and converts to F°…and currently shows as 162° (no units) in the Home app. I assume that I'm doing something wrong, but can't seem to find the answer in the documentation.

I had same problem,. Go into your server device and edit the settings. Then select each of your thermostats and "Edit single device". Then select the F settings there and save. Give HomeKit a couple of minutes to update and all was good for me.

Thanks. That fixed it. I didn't notice that option before. Perhaps it could be defaulted based upon the Server's setting.

Re: HomeKit Bridge Public Beta Now Open

I noticed last night that if i issue a command like "Turn off the master bedroom lights" HBB will do these all in near syncronisation, but HBK will do them sequentially. Now this is not a gripe, just an observation.. i'm curious as to why that side of things has changed? Some kind of checking to make sure the action has completed per item before moving onto the next?

Luck I think, it's always been sequential for me. The script was totally rewritten for HKB so it's possible that Webdeck is calling it differently. Theoretically the script could call every light in the house at once and the plugin should handle it since each request runs in its own thread, but maybe that's the difference.

Re: HomeKit Bridge Public Beta Now Open

I run Hikvision cameras with rtsp support, but I don't use any Indigo plugins to support them. Right now I have a HBB custom server, that uses Camera-ffmpeg homebridge plugin.

In HKB, will there be a a configuration where I can support these? Thanks.

But I should add to this that you can still run HBB if for nothing more than camera support if you want until HKB supports it. They will run side-by-side without any issue.

Re: HomeKit Bridge Public Beta Now Open

Think i ran into a problem when I updated to 19.8 and trying to add cameras. 19.8 seemed to hang on install (probably an issue on my end), but finally installed

added cameras as noted in the thread

went to home on my idevice and nothing showed up (cameras)

home kit bridge not connecting:( no devices are active).

However, when I went to add device within home on my device, my cameras appeared, I had to enter the code for them individually and they all work.

The home kit bridge server however, is no longer connecting.

Any ideas? Or should I start a ticket?

Thanx
