but are the devices working in HomeKit?.

The server won't start (for reasons I can't tell, because I can't access the service logs remotely) so I don't know yet.

What kind of garage door openers do you all use? Instead Multi I/O? myQ? Generic switch? I finally got garage doors working and want to make sure I try to build in enough different types of implementations to allow you all to test.

Re: HomeKit Bridge Closed Beta Discussion

OK, finally got a minute to check the service logs. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to say anything about why it's happening.
Code: Select all
"description": "HomeKit configuration generated by HomeKit Bridge on 2018-02-13 13:13:00.979000 for device Testing"
}
2018-02-13 13:13:00.980   THREADDEBUG    Plugin   shellHBStartServer          Running: "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7/Plugins/EPS HomeKit Bridge.indigoPlugin/Contents/Server Plugin/bin/hb/homebridge/load" "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7/Preferences/Plugins/com.eps.indigoplugin.homekit-bridge/575372563"
2018-02-13 13:13:01.050   INFO           Plugin   shellHBStartServer          Attempting to start 'Testing'
2018-02-13 13:13:13.555   DEBUG          Plugin   onAfter_runConcurrentThread   Checking running state of all servers
2018-02-13 13:13:43.696   DEBUG          Plugin   onAfter_runConcurrentThread   Checking running state of all servers
2018-02-13 13:14:01.218   ERROR          Plugin   shellHBStartServer          HomeKit server 'Testing' could not be started, please check the service logs for more information, now issuing a forced shutdown of the service to be safe.
2018-02-13 13:14:01.218   THREADDEBUG    Plugin   shellHBStopServer           Running: "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7/Plugins/EPS HomeKit Bridge.indigoPlugin/Contents/Server Plugin/bin/hb/homebridge/unload" "/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7/Preferences/Plugins/com.eps.indigoplugin.homekit-bridge/575372563"
2018-02-13 13:14:01.261   INFO           Plugin   shellHBStopServer           Attempting to stop 'Testing'
There's lots more, but this seems like the place where it fails after trying to start, and then it somehow knows to try stopping.

Edit: Upgraded to 0.5.0 and I'm seeing
Code: Select all
HomeKit Bridge Error            Server 'Testing' device 'Dining Room and Office Speakers' is trying to reference a HomeKit class of service_Dummy that isn't defined.
which is new. BUT, now the home kit Bridge is running!

Re: HomeKit Bridge Closed Beta Discussion

Try adding a different device maybe something about that being added in the midst of all your issues caused it to be incorrect.

For The Four New Beta Testers

Please be sure to visit the Wiki for HomeKit Bridge. I've tried to document as I publish new features so I don't have a monumental documenting task on release.

So far it's mostly stable, still missing a lot of features but stable. Hopefully the latest Beta changes will allow me to onboard devices more rapidly, but I'm thankful I kept it to just a handful because I had to change every-single-one!

Re: HomeKit Bridge Closed Beta Discussion

Just installed B6. :)

Getting this error (a lot of):
HomeKit Bridge Error Exception in plugin.onAfter_nonpluginDeviceUpdated line 339: 'Device' object has no attribute 'coolSetpoint'
CODE: o = getattr(origDev, w)

No clue as to what device :?

Ahh, you must have a Nest. I added some special code because the Nest plugin is such a pig, it does like 12 status updates every 3 seconds and just chokes the logs. I'll put in some checks on that and put up a new build for you.

Re: HomeKit Bridge Closed Beta Discussion

I have Nest Protects only - I don't have any Nest thermostats.

I do have Popp and Spirit thermostats that don't have cooling as the are Thermostatic Radiator Valve controllers. :)

I was looking specifically for the plugin, I would say don't add your Nest stuff to HKB just yet because they may not work. It was a stop gap in frustration when I couldn't ready my logs because my thermostat was updating, literally, 12 states every 3 seconds and it was in HKB so...... yea.

Anyway, 0.6.1 is posted, it'll do a check on those states before trying to compare them.

I'm not sure why, not much really changed in regards to starting up. But I'm glad it's working for you now
