Multiple Switches?

I currently have two uniFi switches - I can only see how to specify one switch in the config - is it possible to configure more than one?

Re: Multiple Switches?

the number of switches is currently hardwired to be ONE.. as I only have one it is difficult to test to extend to more.. but I am open to donations ... :wink:

Re: Multiple Switches?

the challenge is that a device (client) can be connected to one ... n switches i.e. 1. local, then one up and then the central switch.. requires some logic to disentangle the info

for the AP's we have which AP is the wifi device attached to.. for the switches it would be a list of switches and port#s

that will take a minute or two to write and debug ..

Re: Multiple Switches?

My purchase and use of UniFi devices was prompted by the release of your plugin. :lol:

My setup is:
  • USG
    • UniFi Switch 8 POE-150W [0]
      • UniFi AP-AC-Pro
      • UniFi Switch 8 POE-150W [1]
      • D-Link Switch DGS-100-24
        • D-Link Switch DGS-100-16

I am saving up to swap the D-Links for the UniFI equivalents. :wink:

Thanks for looking at the change :)

Re: Multiple Switches?

actually was easier than I thought..

not tested with >1 switch
use at your own risk.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/g8jycdwizov1y7w/uniFiAP-v-7.6.47.zip?dl=1
But if you could would be nice

there are now the following states (0/1/2/3/4) added per unifi device (16 more states)
<State id="ageSWITCH_2">
<State id="SW_2_ip_port">
<State id="inListSWITCH_2">
<State id="uptimeSWITCH_2">

if you just use one e.g. 0 all 1/2/3/4 states will be blank

you will need to add the 2. switch in config (ip#) and set enable = True.. rest should be automatic.

one issue left:
If you use switch info for up/down/expire.. it will look only at one switch at a time and make the decision.
So when you move a device from one switch to the other it might expired quicker as the timer might run out at one while it is still active at the other switch..
This will need to wait until I have my switches.

Re: Multiple Switches?

Installed and all running OK. :D

Looking at the Custom States data for various devices and the two switches, all looks good AFAICS. :)

I shall spend a bit of time tomorrow checking through it in more detail.

As always, thanks for an incredibly rapid implementation. :D

Re: Multiple Switches?

actually you need to upgrade to the next version (...50). The device with the internal info was not created in the old version. just the normal unifi client devices were created

Also you might see up to 4 devices created for each switch. Switches can have up to 3 different MAC numbers (e.g. for eth0, serial port ...) that produces 3 unify-client devices . In addition the SW-#ofPorts type device is created that shows the internal stats of the device:

and for the regular unifi client devices like this:

Have it running with 3 unifi switches: one 24 port w POE, one 8 port with POE, and one 8 port w/o POE.

seems to be stable
