Nest Protect 2 - Yellow Ring

I just moved from an apartment to a house -- and I'm in the process of rebuilding an entire whole-whole Insteon system.

I have (4) Nest Protects (Version 2) hardwired throughout the house. In my previous setup I had the old V1 models.

I've noticed that when I send a trigger from a keypad to execute an Insteon scene -- the Nest Protect status ring turns yellow. Has anyone else seen this? And any suggestions on how to stop this?

Thanks!

One of differences between Version 1 and Version 2 is the 'Nightly Promise' function and that's the most likely cause as I can't think of any reason why it would have an issue otherwise because the only communications to the Nest are either from the Internet or between devices and Insteon shouldn't impact that (although see comments on wifi at the end).

When it glows yellow, in Version 2, if you press the button it should tell you why it's complaining (it won't otherwise). The most likely reasons are sensor issues, low battery or wifi connection lost or patchy. You can also run a self-test and that should tell you of any issues. Given that they're hard wired it's unlikely to be the battery but it could be the backup batteries that have an issue. You can replace the batteries if that's the issue as they're just Lithium AA batteries.

This tells you more about that:

If it's a sensor issue (and nothing else works :D) you can learn more about the issue and how to resolve it here:

I'm assuming that you've linked your Insteon system with your Nests to manage them. I haven't heard of any issues with that and the Insteon system is now officially supported by Nest (http://www.insteon.com/works-with-nest/)

However I did find some comments on wifi interference and Insteon devices: http://forums.indigodomo.com/viewtopic.php?t=8911&f=3 but to be honest I doubt this is the case. However, I have zero experience with Insteon devices so who knows - perhaps there's someone here who does.

Just for reference - the meanings of the different rings are:

Hope that helps and gives you a resolution somewhere. Otherwise I'm stumped sorry.

Regards

Mike
The only other question is the WiFi connection.
