understanding fingscan events

i'm experimenting with fingscan events.

i was interested in using FINGSCAN to trigger and alert me when any one of a group of "critical infrastructure" devices goes off the network for any reason (smoke detectors, etc.).

an event seems to be a way baked into FINGSCAN plugin to create a group of devices and track their aggregate states, as i understand it. sounds like it might give me what i want.

i tried setting up an event, and then printed the event state to my logs and i see:
Code: Select all
fingscan                        command: Print EVENTS and configuration
   fingscan                        EVENT:-------------  1  ---------------------------------------------------------------
   fingscan                        dev#:  1 -- deviceName:Fing Airport 0MR       -- MAC#:B8:C7:5D:CD:04:98 -- ip#:192.168.1.11    -- status:up       -- WiFi:

fingscan                       AtLeast ONE Device  Home :           0  -- reacts after minTimeNotHome
fingscan                        ALL Devices         Away :           0  -- reacts minTimeAway bf Trig
fingscan                        AtLeast ONE Device  Away :           0  -- reacts minTimeAway bf Trig

   fingscan                        dataFormat               :         3.0

so... i have a group of devices. all of these devices are "home" , assuming i understand what that means. they all have status of "up".

i don't understand how "All Devices Home" is 1 and simultaneously "AtLeast ONE Device Home" is 0.

am i misunderstanding something about what "home" vs. "away" means?
