Re: FINGSCAN - discussion

So it’d seem that it’ll keep working longer term then? Good.. just didn’t want to go to the hassle of setting it up only to find the project was dead :)

Re: FINGSCAN - discussion

Tiny little feature request.. when finding new devices rather than creating a folder called ipDevices could it be set to use a folder with a indigo ID like 1899252660? Would just be nice to keep things tidier :)

Re: FINGSCAN - discussion

What is the difference between a name and a number? We could add a config parameter where you can set the folder name.

Re: FINGSCAN - discussion

I like to rename non room name folders to start • so either specify the number or a specific name, either would work! :)

Re: FINGSCAN - discussion

Hi Karl,
Thanks for Fingscan.
I have a question:
Every time when go to Plugin/fingscan/configure this command load very slowly.
When i open some ipDevice for settings and click to "Edit Device settings" to full configure, the Configuration window does not open.
If the window open and I make changes, then gives me this error.
fingscan v7.22.2

Re: FINGSCAN - discussion

Could you check if there is an error message in the log file when you get this error ?

Re: FINGSCAN - discussion

Hey Karl,

I have a Tivo that uses their wireless-N adapter. The problem is, it manages to associate the same MAC address with 2 ip's. Don't ask me WHY that is, mind you, as I'm still trying to figure this out ( I think it has something to do with the way it access the wireless network via an access point and duplicates the MAC address):

a8-20-66-32-ae-96:fing shrxman$ arp -a | egrep "221|232"
tivo-746000190998b82 (192.168.2.221) at 0:11:d9:3a:80:5b on en0 ifscope [ethernet]
? (192.168.2.232) at 0:11:d9:3a:80:5b on en0 ifscope [ethernet]

Anyway, when I start up the fingscan plugin, I keep getting reports of the IP address 'flapping', and the following log entry:
fingscan MAC#:00:11:D9:3A:80:5B -- old IP: 192.168.2.232 ; new IP number: 192.168.2.221 to switch off changed message: edit this device and select no msg

I found the device in Indigo, but can't see where i can select "no msg". Is this a legacy message from old functionality, perhaps, or am I looking in the wrong location.

thanx again for all that you do out here in IndigoLand :-),
~ken

It should be in device edit at the bottom

Re: FINGSCAN - discussion

Hey Karl,

Thanks for the reply.

Device edit from the Indigo Devices page? When I click on that, I get the standard device page, and I see "Edit Device Settings..." on the bottom. Clicking on that, though, gives me a custom window (yours), with three options.

Which Info to be used for status updates [ DHCP, WIFI, SWITCH] - DHCP Selected

Then two options for what info to use to determine if device is offline
this will use DHCP-AGE, if AGE GT xx device goes UP to DOWN: 'use regular expiration' is selected

set individual time for UP to DOWN to EXPIRED for THIS device: '90 seconds' is selected.

Am i looking in the wrong spot?

Re: FINGSCAN - discussion

the last line should be the one that enables / disables messages for ip# changed ... this is for FINGSCAN

are you talking about FINGSCAN or UNIFI?
