plots not up dating

Karl
First I want to thank you for this great plugin. I have been using it since the first release. You just keep adding more features.

I have updated to version 4.16.2 to try the new Event type with my outdoor motion detectors. Got it working and it looks great.

With the update I did delete a few old plots and made changes to a few more. But looks like I messed something up. All the plots
work but the data does not update. Checked the png files there modified dates keep updating but plots do not change. I have
done a "RE-LOAD data from SQL database, that works and all plots get updated, but there is no more changes in the plots until
I do the re-load again.

Any suggestions as to what I messed up would be appreciated.

Thanks
Elwood

Re: plots not up dating

mine updates.. could you give me your config, post or dropbox - like that better)

1. menue/print plot and print device
2. the file ....indigoplotd/data/hour.dat.formatted after menu/print to formatted file(and the date/time when you created it, I would like to check if the data is there
3. anything in the log file? (there is an option to send the logs into a separate file. check if anything there (..../indigoplotd/indigoplotd.log)
4. do you use matplot of gnuplot?

could you also try: menu/refresh all plot, see if anything changes..

Re: plots not up dating

the plots are pretty cool - ps you can remove the dots at 0 when you subtract 0.0001 fro the value and keep the y range 0:x

I have no clue why it is not collecting data and not complain.. mine works ..

will send you a special version with more log file output: then in config check debug special on.

Re: plots not up dating

found the bug ... sql import thinks it is not finished.. its the events data type .. it is finished, but t does not know it and until its finished it does not do regular data import ..

http://forums.indigodomo.com/viewtopic.php?f=165&t=15884 version should fix it..
not completely happy with the solution yet .. some timing issues, but it should work.

would like to spend some time on tuning (sql import vs regular data acquisition when EVENTS are being read from SQL)

updated the plugin and the plots are now updating. You mentioned getting rid of the off dots at the 0 line by subtracting .0001 from the value. Where and which value
am I using. Is that from the 0 tic mark? tried the offset in both the plot setup and add devices still get the dots at 0.
If you need any testing of you tuning let me know.

Thanks again for all you work

Re: plots not up dating

set the yrange to 0:xx
Then for the line you want to suppress the dots at 0: add an offset of -0.001 in the line definition.
That will move the data outside of the y range plotted, and hence these dots at 0 should disappear.

Post are now updating OK, but you said you may have some timing issues. Have a few times when all but the lower two lines disappear. Background is OK, after a few
minutes all the lines return. Looks like the png file is not being fully updated.

Still can't get rid of the off dots at the zero line. range is set to 0:65 and all lines offset to -0.001. Below are examples:

Re: plots not up dating

Could you Dropbox the plot defs. Menus/print plot definitions.
And is it mat plot or gnu plot?

Re: plots not up dating

no need post..
GNUPLOT works, MATPLOT somehow show the data (half a dot) even when it is 10000000 outside y-range. I am looking into it .
