WUnderground Error: These are estimated conditions.

Hi Dave,
Lately I have been seeing this error in my log.

Code: Select all
30 Jun 2015 08:10:51
WUnderground Error              These are estimated conditions. There are no weather stations nearby.

I have 2 local (relatively close) pvs stations set up. Any idea what this comes from?

Also another question :)
Is it posible to get wind readings in SI units : m/s (meters/seconds)

thanks for your excellent work on this plugin.

WUnderground Error: These are estimated conditions.

Hi Håvard:

The estimated conditions alert is based on an express flag within the WU data itself. If WU reports that flag as true, I throw the message. For some reason, the stations by you have stopped reporting (or at least WU is saying that's the case.)

I will look into SI units for wind. WU doesn't make those available, but a little math never hurt anyone. :)

Re: WUnderground Error: These are estimated conditions.

Hi Håvard - thanks for reporting back. Glad to hear that you like the update so far.

I've been thinking about the estimated conditions message "There are no weather stations nearby." which is appropriate for locations which self-identify (like lat/long or autoip) but less so when a PWS or airport station is used. I myself received this message the other day for a local PWS when another local PWS was reporting just fine. In any event, I am going to refine this message to be more generic which may reduce potential confusion.

Thanks again for using the plugin.
Dave
