Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

Can anyone confirm either way if the TX-SR607 is compatible with this plugin? Just ran across one for sale here on CL.

My intuition says "no'' since I'm betting the N in the model numbers of all the listed compatible ones stands for "network."

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

I think I've answered my own question by looking at the back panels of N series receivers vs the SR series. N series have an ethernet port and the SR doesn't.

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

Thanks for a great plug in! It's working well so far with my TX-RZ800.

One question though. It's not clear to me how I can pull back the following variables so that I can keep my control pages updated:

Current Input (Main)
Current Input (Zone 2)
Mute Status (Main)
Mute Status (Zone 2)
Listening Mode
NetworkPlay Album
NetworkPlay Artist
NetworkPlay Title
Tuner Frequency

Thanks!

Hey Rob... Those are all exposed as Device States - so you need only set the control page element as:
"Device State" > For [select your receiver] -> State

You don't want to select any virtual volume controllers setup, but rather the Receiver Indigo Device. The labels should be obvious - Current Input, Is Muted, Streaming Title, etc. Note that the album/artist/title is only shown for certain inputs and not all receiver models support it. I want to say we have a user using it for Pandora successfully.

Well lookey-there! Right under my nose.

I made it more complicated than it needed to be (I have a gift for that!)

Thank you!

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

I'm starting to get an error on my plugin "Connection failed for device XXXXXXX: [Errno60] Operation timed out"

I can access the receiver via Safari at its static IP and modify/save without difficulty. While the plugin seems to engage for a few minutes with the status indicators green, in looking at the log at medium debugging it states it acquires status but is able to change the station or receive updates. Following the failed status request the indicators turn red and throw the error while I am watching it. No other odd behavior from the system or network. Anything I should check? Powercycle the unit?

thanks!

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

It looks like you may have two Indigo devices attempting to connect? Are they both going to the same receiver? I ask because that could cause some issues there (potentially)... otherwise, turn the debug up to high, disable the plugin, reboot the receiver, then start the plugin back up again. That should give a ton of log file information...

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

I was away for the weekend and unable to access the Onkyo. For some reason it seems is got into a funk and had to be unplugged. I have since plugged it into my Digital Loggers ethernet power switch so that I can control and reset it remotely.

In any case the plugin seems to be working fine now. I set it up with two devices, one for Main and the other for Zone 2. Maybe I didn't dig hard enough, but it seemed like the functionality was better with two devices. So far, with the exception of this one hiccough, it has worked well. Will report back as needed.

Thanks again for a GREAT plugin!

You have one setup as a Receiver device and one as a Virtual Volume Controller or both setup as full Receiver devices? I have mine setup as a virtual volume device and as far as I can tell works just fine... not sure that two simultaneous connections are supported if you have two full receiver devices. But I guess if it has been working, so be it!

Thanks again for a GREAT plugin!

No problem at all... let me know if your issues return and we need to look into it further!

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

I am using it as two separate receiver devices and it works fine. As I need a preamp hotly I use the zone 2 for my WHA source.

One thing I can't figure out is how to set up and select a pandora station via the plugin. Is that possible? Does it use the web interface list? If not, is it possible to set up the actual Onkyo app so that it can open from a URL call in Indigo, like the apple remote app can?

Honestly, I have no idea whatsoever... however, I just looked at the command dump and there is an "Internet Radio Preset Command" that accepts a number which is presumably the preset. If you have a preset defined, try entering these into the "Send Arbitrary Command" option (from the Plugins menu) and see if it changes to the preset (not 100% sure the format, if one works, no need to send another):

NPR1
NPR01

Note that the number may bein hexadecimal format, so try with a preset in the 1-9 range first. If that works, we can add it to the plugin as an action pretty darn easily.

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

Here is the URL for accessing the Onkyo Remote app: onkyo-remote3://
Put the URL on a control page and it will switch to the Remote app to let one directly select stations. Then one can switch back to Indigo Touch.
Probably a lot easier to use this than figuring out all this stuff below.... :D

Turned on debugging and ran NPR1; no result. However, NPR01 gave this feedback. This is the HD audio stream from my local NPR station, WABE. I set it up in "TuneIn" as I believe is supposed to be done. tunein.com/radio/WABE-News-901-s67046/

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

I love this plugin. However it seems broken under Indigo 7. Has anyone else encountered problems with it? Seems to still work fine with Indigo 6.
