Sonos Power Saver - feature request to disable wifi ?

Big fan of this plugin and I've integrated a couple of Insteon Keypads to do volume control, playlist control, etc..

I've been reading some info about the Idle Power Consumption of Sonos players.. Basically the claim is that turning off wifi can reduce consumption by approx 2W per player.. A couple of links:
- Sonos power consumption - https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/ ... -when-idle
- How to disable wifi - https://bsteiner.info/articles/disabling-sonos-wifi

My feature request is to add a Sonos Action to disable the Wifi.. Basically you could invoke this action based on different events in your house ( i..e nobody home, on vacation, etc) .

I did a couple of local tests on my system at home but nothing extensive.. As the Sonos system creates a 'mesh network' I think it'd probably be something where you'd wanna enable/disable 'all players' in your house at once. However, I haven't played around with this too much to know if Sonos would work ok if disabling the players independently.

Curious if this has been considered for the Sonos Plugin..

I have turned wifi off on a couple of my Sonos boxes that have a wired LAN connection, but unless they are connected, there'd be no way to turn wifi back on again!

yeah good callout @benip . I think you have to have at least 1 ZP hardwired in order to play around with this functionality. I tried disabling the wifi for my Sonos Playbar that is hardwired to my router. This appeared to do the right thing. Not only did this single command disable the Wifi on my Playbar, but it disabled wifi for the 3 other players. Likewise when turning Wifi back on for this hardwired Playbar, the other players Wifi followed suit

I am now playing around with different triggers for when to turn ON/OFF the Wifi - such as no-one is home, players aren't being used, etc. For some reason last night my Playbar Status got out of whack. I was watching TV thru the playbar and Status was 'PLAYING'. At some point the status switched to 'STOPPED' even though I was still watching (and audio playing).
