Re: States not Showing in Indigo

When you configured the ZonePlayer itself in the Sonos app, what did you name it? I traced back through the source code and it is failing on the line that writes the ZonePlayer name to one of the states in Indigo.

It would help if you could also try navigating to the following url and posting the results here: http://192.168.0.127:1400/status/zp

Re: States not Showing in Indigo

Ah... That might be the reason.
I named my Sonos "kjøkken" which means "kitchen" in Norwegian.
The ø character is probably making a problem here. I guess that's why the error referes to an ASCI error.

Norwegians have the following special characters in their alphabet: æ, ø and å.

Maybe the plugin could be updated to support those characters some time in the future.

I will rename my sonos and test when I get back home. Will report the results here.

That was it!

Changed the name to "Kjokken" and that made the plugin work perfectly!

Thanks for the help! Great plugin you´ve made here!

Re: States not Showing in Indigo

Glad it's working. I've already updated the plugin so you should be able to change the name back once I post the new version.

Re: States not Showing in Indigo

Hi I am also having the following issue:

WARN coherence Apr 29 16:00:25 Coherence UPnP framework version 0.6.6.2 starting... (coherence/base.py:283)
WARN coherence Apr 29 16:00:55 hostname can't be resolved, maybe a system misconfiguration? (coherence/base.py:291)

My computer name is steveserver, "computers on my local network can use steveserver.local". I've tried doing DNS forward reverse checks (I used dig and dig ns but don't know what I'm looking for here. Any further suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Re: States not Showing in Indigo

I have hacked my base.py for Coherence to default to the correct ip address when the look up fails. Not ideal but working for now.

My album art also stopped updating. Would you prefer I post this symptom in another thread?

Thanks for the support as always!

Please disregard the above. Both issues have self corrected with some unicorns and FM :) maybe a reboot or 5 helped too....

Would you point me to the changes you made? I'd like to add some logic to do this automatically. Thanks.

Re: States not Showing in Indigo

Hi @nlagaros,

I was having the same problem:

Code: Select all
Sonos Debug                     SonosEvents: WARN  coherence                   May 30 09:04:02  Coherence UPnP framework version 0.6.6.2 starting... (coherence/base.py:283)
Sonos Debug                     SonosEvents: WARN  coherence                   May 30 09:04:02  hostname can't be resolved, maybe a system misconfiguration? (coherence/base.py:291)
Sonos Debug                     SonosEvents: WARN  coherence                   May 30 09:04:02  detection of own ip failed, using 127.0.0.1 as own address, functionality will be limited (coherence/base.py:308)

I solved this by changing your Sonos.py to specify the interface to bind to when instanciating the control_point variable (Sonos.py line 139) as follows. (notice the "interface" option that was added):

Code: Select all
           control_point = ControlPoint(Coherence({'logmode':'warn','logfile':'coherence.log', 'controlpoint':'no', 'interface':'en0'}), auto_client=['ZonePlayer', 'MediaRenderer'])

Not sure how you want to address the issue, but this does seem to solve it for me at least.

Re: States not Showing in Indigo

Hello,

I have never seen states so I did not know they were even availible for use till now. I was hoping they were able to be used, specifically to use the mute button as a trigger to reset a variable but no states have ever shown up for me. I can control the sonos speakers just fine just no state is ever shown in indigo.

My Coherance.log shows this: http://pastebin.com/z59dvhJn
My Debug output shows this: http://pastebin.com/uKVakELA
My status/zp shows:

ZoneName Kitchen
ZoneIcon x-rincon-roomicon:kitchen

Re: States not Showing in Indigo

Has this ever been solved?
I just tried to start using sonos in indigo, and I have 2 connects, and 2 connect:amps. The connects keep losing the state. The state does not show in indigo. Only way I have found to get it back is via a factory reset for the sonos. But then it goes a way again. Basically unusable. I am not using any special characters in the names.

States not Showing in Indigo

I've scheduled a regular reload (rather than "factory reset") of the Sonos plugin to overcome this issue - brute force rather than finesse!
