Irma

We got the evacuation order Friday afternoon in Cape Coral FL. Now in North Carolina with friends. I'm using Indigo and Security Spy to monitor the house, as long as the power and internet stay up. I expect it's going to be totally flooded sometime tonight.

Re: Irma

Thanks for the update. I'm near Walt Disney World in a fairly new (3+ years) house and well stocked, with everything secured. Hoping for the best.

Re: Irma

You're probably OK. Our house is brand new, and I would have stayed if it was just the wind. But we're right on the coast and they're predicting 6-10' of storm surge, which we can't handle.

Oi, not a good spot indeed - good luck to you and the house! It seems as if they often estimate the storm surge on the higher end of the prediction range, so hopefully that is the case here -- though you might get some of the highest depending upon that eye track. Kind of wish we could up and move to like, say, Colorado.

I had a few buddies in Orlando and it took them forever and a day to get out on Wednesday/Thursday. They were leaving out of an abundance of caution, though, and the fact that they could come here to visit family anyway.

Re: Irma

Storm has passed here near Walt Disney World. No damage to the house or grounds. Never even lost power. Bonus: I now have an infinity pool.
