I don't think Apple's so far gone as to think the Mac can be EOL'd any time soon. It's clear to everyone (Microsoft too though more slowly) that a touch-based device can do a lot of things, but they still fall short in many areas. And because development for the Apple ecosystem (both Apps for *OS and perhaps to a lesser extent digital content) still really requires a Mac, I don't see them EOLing them. Now, they could simplify and dump the mini and Pro and clean up the MacBook line to be more lean - in fact, I believe it's what they'll do moving forward. But there are still too many things that don't work well enough on a touch-based system to completely dump the Mac.

I think the real question is how long will it take for macOS to become so unusable/unstable that people will move to other platforms even with the investment they currently have in the ecosystem, and where will those platforms come from (I don't currently believe it'll be from Apple or Microsoft). If Apple stays on the current trajectory with macOS, it will happen.

Cook is an amazing operations guy - Apple's profitability shows that. The company is severely lacking in vision and technical execution. It may be too big and successful at this point to change that, I don't know.

I have an Indigo trigger on a motion sensor above my office Mac that executes the Ban Durosity action in my Indigo Durosity Plugin whenever I'm near my Mac. Any votes for me to open source the plugin?

Dang, you've managed to make indigo exceptionally stable and reliable.. but totally dropped the ball with that plugin!
