Withings WS-50 Scale

Hey guys,

I'm trying to integrate my Withings WS-50 scale as a trigger for my morning routine in indigo. There is a IFTTT channel for the Withings, but I found that it is too slow to act as a trigger event.

Did anyone had success integrating the scale with indigo?

Many thanks

I use fingscan to check for active wifi connection and base the scene on that. Still slow (about 5 seconds or so depending how you configured fing) but does the job for me at the moment.

Re: Withings WS-50 Scale

Hi

I have an follow up question.

If i use IFTTT to send me an mail when i wheigh myself

I there anyway to make Indigo change variable by automatic reeding the mail and set the variable as my weight ?

Or is it possible to use any other system to set an dynamic variable from "the internet" ?

I know its possible to trigger an event based on a matching word in the mail, but i was hoping i didnt have to make a trigger for every weight (85,1 kg, 85,2 kg, 85,3kg, 85,4kg...........). That would make 50-100 triggers and variables to set up.

(Withings have an API but i dont have the abillity to make an plugin)

What would you want from the API if someone turned it into a plugin?

The API itself is very easy to use, and the plugin would be very simple to knock up.

Unfortunately the authentication is not easy; either the author would need a public webserver that sits in-between the indigo user and the Withings server, and the author is granted secure access to each indigo users Withings data - or each indigo user would have to register for a dev account with Withings which is no mean feat itself.

I might have a look in a month or so, but I don't know if it's feasible even if I look.

If anyone else is interested, feel free to take it on.

Peter

Hi all,

Did this ever go anywhere? I'd also be interested in this, the possibilities are endless from flashing lights to pre-recorded announcements like "get off me you're squashing me" etc etc :)

Is that via IFTTT, using their Withings and URL recipes?

I've not tried it, but I wondered if syncing it to fitbit (or similar) and then using the fitbit API may be easier?

OK I set up a Fitbit account (you don't need a Fitbit) and it does seem to sync very quickly, all I need now is to learn how to get at the data :?

Is anyone else interested in this?
