Re: Russound RNET Plugin

Try setting the Startech to raw mode. Another user mentioned that.

Re: Russound RNET Plugin

I tried that and got the following......

Russound Error Socket: 192.168.1.56:4098 failed to connect. Please check the Russound configuration.

And also try changing the speed from 9600 to 19200.

Thanks. Seems first step is to get the right mode. The choices are:

Re: Russound RNET Plugin

My guess would be raw server, but try each raw option.

This is good. You received a partial message. I think you are connected. Try sending a command.

Nick, you are a positive thinker! An error message is good? Just kidding. I know what you mean. There is some kind of communications going on, but no commands work. I am continuously getting the following:

Re: Russound RNET Plugin

What is the port speed set at on the Russound? Did you change to 19200? I think 9600 may be too slow. All RNET messages should start with F0 and end with F7. It looks like we are a bit off here..

Re: Russound RNET Plugin

Also - when configuring each zone, did you specify the controller and source in the device configuration dialog?

Re: Russound RNET Plugin

And - you can put the plugin in debug mode to get a heck of a lot more detail on what is going on. We will figure this out.

Re: Russound RNET Plugin

I have it going now. Changed port speed to 19.2 and also opened the port to the IP address where Indigo is running. Not sure which one fixed it, but it works great now! Thanks very much for your work on the Sonos and Russound plugins. They have greatly simplified my life.

Suggestion for Russound RNET and Sonos Plugins

The Russound RNET and Sonos Plugins are truly great! I appreciate the efforts behind the development of the plugins very much. I have suggestion that would make them both even better. A simple addition of identifying information in the actions would be very helpful. For example, if I add a Stop Sonos action in an action group it appears as "stop". If this action is one of a dozen or so actions in an action list, it is not immediately recognized when reviewing/editing the list. See my screenshot as an example. If the Sonos actions included the word "Sonos" and the RNET actions included the word "Russound", it would be great. I don't know how hard this change would be to implement, but if easy, it would add a lot. Thanks again for the great plugins!

Re: Suggestion for Russound RNET and Sonos Plugins

I modified the Sonos plugin to prepend all actions with "Sonos:". I hope this is helpful. You can download from my wiki v0.5.11. I will eventually get to the Russound Plugin. I don't think I've touched it in nearly two years.
