Does the Xbox still have an IR port (or connect via Bluetooth to the harmony?)

It does. I use an IP2IR on it.

Something for Mrs Durosity?

Or, some ZWave locks?

Liking them so far!

Ripped out the 2 GlobalCaches and put in these instead. No complaints so far and setup was done in a few minutes. Also didn't even need to use extra IR blasters as apparently it can talk to most of my devices over IP. Even the Samsung TV which I thought had an issue powering on over IP works perfectly!

Awesome! They are lovely little things! And I did find a way to change the background image.. although it is a bit buggy.

Re: Pete's R&D Build Thread

Oh very cool! Did you repurpose the old thermostat wiring for powering it?

Re: Pete's R&D Build Thread

Yep exactly that. I thought it would actually be more complicated than it was.
The iPort came with 2 parts. One was the magnetic wall mount. The other was a faceplate that converts their standard charger into the 2-wire power, so just re-used the thermostat wiring like you said.
Used it previously with the Nest too, I'm very fortunate those wires were there otherwise it would have literally been impossible since the walls are made of concrete ! (Although it seemed fairly soft when hammering it out)

Now to work on a decent control page... something I never find time to do :/

Yeah.. I was hoping for control page improvements in i7 but doesn't look like it's gonna happen from the little hints they've dropped over the last few months.

Re: Pete's R&D Build Thread

Soooo on with the shopping.
Some for my home, some for the office - thinking about starting an automation arm to my business for corporate automation... I've succumbed to the dark side though! (One for work, one for a colleague to play with)
I also thought it was worth trying out some different HA systems to see how Indigo's competition fairs.
Samsung smart things has already been tested - and its reliability is beyond crap.
Fibaro' HC 2 is next on the list.

Also purchased on Vesternet's Easter weekend discounts!

Some sensitive strips for doors and windows
Some double switches
Dimmers to finish off the house lights
Aeotec Garage Door Controller
Fibaro Smoke Sensor
Z-wave Sockets
Fibaro Door / Window Sensors
Oh and some 1k resistors so I can clear the error on my alarm system

Re: Pete's R&D Build Thread

You just had to flash the tesla logo didn't you? :p

I've never heard great things about the HC2. I'll be interested to see what your experiences are!

How does the garage door unit work? Just a relay or does it sense % open too?

Re: Pete's R&D Build Thread

Just a relay! But cones with a tilt sensor and intelligent enough to know that if it's open then pressing open again does nothing.

And of course I did

I like the idea that the HC2's interface is basically there already. Don't have to program control pages... everything else.. we shall see!

You don't have to do that in Indigo either, right?
