Keyboard controlled by Indigo

Forum rules

Questions about hardware that can be controlled by Indigo (but not through the interfaces and plugins listed). If Indigo doesn't support some bit of hardware you're interested in, and you don't find a 3rd Party Plugin for it, add it to this forum. Be sure to include links to as much information as you can find about it.

Note: adding it here does not mean we're going to add it - in fact it's possible one of our 3rd party developers may decide to write a plugin for it. We add hardware/features based on a lot of different factors beyond just having a request for it.

Keyboard controlled by Indigo

I am looking for a keyboard (like the never released Z-Wave Poly-Pad keypad) that would work with Indigo? It can be z-wave, Insteon, or one that would work with RFXCOM). The use-case is for garage entry.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate it.

Regards,

JP

Found this one: http://www.alekoproducts.com/Wireless-K ... 172-ap.htm. Any idea if t would work with the RFXCOM plugin?

Again, thank you.

Re: Keyboard controlled by Indigo

Are you needing the code from the device, or simply 'correct code' acceptance.

If the above or other zwave modules don't work, any code lock (http://www.accesscontroltechnology.com/ ... tal-keypad is my favourite) can be used with a binary input sensor such as Fibaro/Qubino switches.

Correct code acceptance is all I need. Cool. I think this might work.

Thank you!

Cool.

That lock has multiple user codes and timed or held-open.

At work there's a 24/7 site-team code which holds the barrier open for events, plus the regular code for visitors that changes monthly, that opens barrier for 5 seconds.

Interesting, although wouldn't it just take someone just removing the device and shorting the wires together to get it to raise.. Like in some silly spy movie?

Also what code do you use for 24/7 access? I need it for.. Research purposes.

Not sure because I never saw the install - though if you're that bothered you can drive round the grass and between two bollards - it's for active visitor management, not security.

The 24/7 code is 1234 and the password to login remotely is 'password'.
