hunter douglas shades?

Questions about hardware that can be controlled by Indigo (but not through the interfaces and plugins listed). If Indigo doesn't support some bit of hardware you're interested in, and you don't find a 3rd Party Plugin for it, add it to this forum. Be sure to include links to as much information as you can find about it.

Note: adding it here does not mean we're going to add it - in fact it's possible one of our 3rd party developers may decide to write a plugin for it. We add hardware/features based on a lot of different factors beyond just having a request for it.

hunter douglas shades?

window coverings maker hunter douglas seems to have some new hardware for their platinum control system, including a "gateway" device that appears to have network, IR, and serial connections and can transmit RF control commands to shades that appears to be intended to support integration with home automation systems. this looks promising to me, as i believe one of these devices connected to indigo could provide control of all the HD blinds in the house.

wondering if anyone has interest or progress along the lines of an indigo plugin...

I haven't heard of those - you have any links to them?

Re: hunter douglas shades?

the key new device is the "platinum gateway" seems to have been announced last fall. MSRP is $299. supposed release date is september 2013. HD doesn't sell their gear via online retailers, so i can't tell whether it's actually available yet.

articles discussing the gateway:

also here's a link to a Hunter Douglas brochure, including a picture of their architecture for HA integration:

Looks cool. Maybe one of our 3rd party developers will get excited about it and check it out.
