Re: Errors during remote server connection

Nothing that Indigo uses directly is stored on the external drives. I do use the Plex plugin and store my video files on the HDs, but I tested with the plugins disabled and the issue was still there. Time Machine backups are networked to my Mac mini running Server.

So I tried another test today. I spun up the external hard drives before connecting via the client, and the issue did not occur. I've tested this twice now.

I'm using a MacBook Air, and even though I've set Energy Saver not to spin the drives down I'm certain they are going to sleep.

Yep, this tracks with what I'm seeing, at least on my dev Mac. Not sure there's anything we can do about it since Indigo's just not getting enough CPU time while those things are spinning up.

Just unmounted my HD's and the client connected without a delay. Will try this a few more times but look
like you have found the trouble.

You all might want to give this utility a try:

http://jon.stovell.info/software/keep-drive-spinning/

It writes to a hidden file periodically to keep the drive from spinning down.
