Indigo Server disconnecting every night

Hey folks,

My Indigo server software is exiting every night, leaving me with the "start local server" dialog box on-screen.

System log shows:

Jan 12 02:46:06 mail IndigoServer[42441]: IndigoServer(42441,0xb1151000) malloc: *** mach_vm_map(size=1048576) failed (error code=3)
Jan 12 02:46:36 mail IndigoServer[42441]: IndigoServer(42441,0xb1151000) malloc: *** mach_vm_map(size=1048576) failed (error code=3)
Jan 12 02:46:49 mail IndigoPluginHost[42450]: connection to server failed or was dropped
Jan 12 02:46:49 mail IndigoPluginHost[42450]: Quiting Indigo Plugin Host - received quit signal
Jan 12 02:46:49 mail com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.perceptiveautomation.indigo-server.3664[42441]): Service exited due to signal: Segmentation fault: 11 sent by exc handler[0]
Jan 12 02:46:49 mail IndigoPluginHost[42444]: connection to server failed or was dropped

This is happening at 0230-0245 every day with the same messages in the system log. There are no schedules or triggers set to run for that time.

Any ideas?

It could very well be bad memory. Your Mac might also be running out of memory. You can use the built-in Activity Monitor application to see if that is the case.

It doesn't seem to be the memory usage, but I replaced the server memory a few weeks ago - it could well be that. I'll run some hardware tests.

Thanks folks.

Did you get this sorted out? I have the "exact" behavior right now: http://forums.indigodomo.com/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=20062
I actutually get the exact same error as you: mach_vm_map(size=1048576) failed (error code=3)

Re: Indigo Server disconnecting every night

If you are using Indigo's built-in email scanning then try temporarily disabling that for a few days (via Indigo's preferences dialog) to see if that prevents the crash.

Re: Indigo Server disconnecting every night

This did resolve itself but I'm not sure why - I did have email scanning turned on and have subsequently turned it off (it doesn't play nicely with my server) so perhaps that was it...

It definitely wasn't a hardware change - still the same hardware!

Re: Indigo Server disconnecting every night

If you see the problem again then read over the new posts on this forum thread. It looks like for DrLove's case it was Indigo's email sending (not scanning) that was the culprit.
