Bugs and workarounds for Indigo Touch 2.1.2

There appear to be several font-related bugs in more recent versions of iOS/iPadOS when an app using an older SDK (such as IT v2.1.2). They can cause Indigo Touch to crash or behave badly, so try these things to resolve:

  1. iOS 16+: If you have changed the default font size in iOS, this may trigger odd behavior and/or a crash. Change the font size back to the default and that may solve the issue.
  2. iOS 17: Switch to English as the primary language on your iOS/iPadOS device and see if that fixes it (we were able to reproduce this by installing French and making it the primary language). You may be able to switch back to your original language and it may continue to work (we weren't able to reproduce this but another user was able to switch back successfully). YMMV.
  3. iOS 17: If that fails, leave English as the primary language and remove any other languages. We were able to reproduce this by installing Arabic, which even though wasn't the primary language would still cause the devices page to not load and other issues. Removing Arabic fixed it.

We have an updated version of Indigo Touch that we're hoping to release before the end of the year, and we've started testing these new iOS 17 issues with it to make sure we work around whatever iOS bugs might be causing it. It is likely that we'll be required to update the iOS/iPadOS SDK that Indigo Touch uses to address these issues, so it's also likely that the minimum iOS/iPadOS requirements will go up as well.
