Re: where is the update?

The information on iOS 8 issues and workarounds is here.

As to what the problem is, it is that there are only 24 hours in the day. We work incredibly hard but have a incredibly long list of responsibilities: Indigo development (includes dev of INSTEON, Z-Wave, plugin architecture, reflectors, server/web server/GUI/Indigo Touch, feature design, product QA, product management, documentation writing/editing, etc), Website design/development/QA (front and backend), Sales (marketing and fulfillment), Accounting, and of course Support (forum, end customer emails, dealer/reseller/installer emails). I'm sure that list is missing quiet a bit as well, but you get the idea.

But don't misunderstand me – we absolutely love our jobs, and we think the Indigo community here is the most helpful we've ever seen. And we sometimes get frustrated at the pace of progress as well. But complaining about it doesn't speed things along, because, well, there aren't any more hours in the day that the two of can possibly work.

As we have said multiple time on the forum, a new Indigo Touch release is top priority for us. However, we do still have to take time to answer support questions, such as this one.

Re: [ANSWERED]: where is the update?

hmmm,

I had indigo home since the early days of Mac

your Company is very old...and Good..

We use Indigo Home with iPads and iPhones everywhere in the House

Indigo server with a Mac, Indigo touch with 15 iPads mini and even more iPhones, 5 iphones 6 now

It would be nice to us and right when the Indigo touch an update would bring so that the new devices could work.

Thank you

Re: [ANSWERED]: where is the update?

I think it's time
to build an Indigo for Linux - Raspi Linux

the Perfect Computer to using the Indigo server

5Volt, 700mhz, 512 RAM
WLAN -LAN - USB . and other

at that time we had helped to create the Octoprint
No one knew whether it worked even

Today, is OctoPrint of one of the best software for the 3D printer

Why then not the Raspi as central Indigo Server - Siri Home Kit Office Remodel
works in the every country, without any additional plug or comic devices

Re: [ANSWERED]: where is the update?

The Raspiberry Pi is a great hacking/prototyping device. For an end consumer device, however, it has some shortcomings: 1) no power switch or safe way to power it down, 2) flash card corruption on unsafe power down, 3) the USB stack is flakey and has some bugs. I'm not ruling out Indigo on a rPi, but at this time I don't think it is the ideal platform.

Re: [ANSWERED]: where is the update?

Ahh but Matt those are solvable problems. I'd LOVE Indigo on a RPi or on a Beagle Bone Black (prefer the BBB for the additional IO) The Linux distros built for those platforms handle the sudden removal of power very gracefully, I've got a few of each and haven't had a problem with that. Plus - who ever powers-down their Indigo server anyway??? Uptime on my Core Solo (upgraded to Core Duo) Indigo Mac mini is at 644 days which is about when I moved into this house!

Also, back on the topic of Indigo Touch - Indigo Touch runs just fine on my iPhone 6+. Granted it's huge and not using all of the real estate (like on the 5) but everything that worked on the 5, works on the 6+ for me.

Re: [ANSWERED]: where is the update?

The rPi is also a bit underpowered when you start adding plugins given that each runs in it's own process. And, as you point out, it doesn't really have enough USB ports really. We're pretty sure the rPi isn't the right platform.

Re: [ANSWERED]: where is the update?

I've got OpenHab running on a rPi for testing. It takes forever to load, but once all the modules have loaded the response isn't bad. oHAB feels snappier all the way around on the BBB which does have 300 MHZ more umph, although both could use more memory. 512MB is awfully small these days. With a fast SD card though, a swap drive is a viable option for more memory on either platform and performance isn't horrible.

Not that I have any interest in indigo on the pi (I'd much rather the r&d time was spent on the existing platform :) this is quite an interesting fix for those power related issues:

Re: [ANSWERED]: where is the update?

Hey guys

FWIW, I've been using the Touch app on an iPhone 6 since I got it, and it seems to be working just fine. We're up to iOS8.02, and everything is still groovy.

I do notice some screen resolution issues occasionally... the size of the window seems to get larger(but I suspect that is part of the new iOS dealing with larger screens....) but the functionally seems pretty much intact... at least for me.

I use mostly the Control Pages in the app, but Devices, Action Groups, and Variables all seem to work just fine.

Also, I'm connecting directly to the server at home, not thru the Reflector site, so I don't know if that makes any difference or not. And by directly at home, I mean even when out on the road, using the cell network.

I deleted the app, that app installed again, NIX

IOS8.02
iPhone 6 or 6Plus,

App starts up to the shield to the username and password input. After screen freezes.

to the Fortune I have still iPad System 7 lying around, which work well
