Re: HomeKit-Enabled Smoke Detector w/ Airplay

That is actually quite an interesting product with possibilities... I wonder if it will seamlessly integrate into existing networks so that "Hey Google" / "Alexa" / etc. won't be answered twice (in other words, hopefully works the same as having multiple native products as they do now).

Except I don't have $250 to spend, much less replace all 10 or whatever count of them I have. One day maybe... worth watching!

The article implies that it will allow it's microphones to control via Siri. I hadn't heard of Apple allowing 3rd parties to integrate Siri directly into their own hardware.

You know what reporters are like for being economical with the truth, Jay.. whether it be intentional or not. :/

Computer says no.

Re: HomeKit-Enabled Smoke Detector w/ Airplay

I just got that it supports Airplay 2 out of the box, did it say that it will enable Siri voice commands? But, consider that a bluetooth headset can invoke Siri too, so if this is a live microphone and attaches to your devices via bluetooth then perhaps.
