New smart rotary dimmers

Hamilton have released an interesting new smart rotary dimmer that also has a intermediate module so you can have multiple rotary dimmers controlling the same circuit as well as Smart Control.

The big downside is lack of obvious public API. Is Alexa and Google home compatible so should be possible. I’ve emailed them to ask about any API documentation.

It’s WiFi so shouldn’t be hard I’m hoping to work out as long as no encryption involved.

This will be huge in my house to going back to rotary dimmers rather than momentary switches.

Sadly they don’t have a public API and only operate via their own app of Alexa or Google home.

If the app operates locally is it possible to use wireshark to capture the messages and reverse engineer the api?

Re: New smart rotary dimmers

I had thought that the new modules were universal, 120-240V, but apparently only at 60Hz.. Sorry about that.

Re: New smart rotary dimmers

No worries. Also don’t think they would fit our face plates either
The ones I linked can go behind and use existing knob so fits into existing decor.
Shame as this is first option I’ve seen.
We have zigbee rotary dimmers but can’t be used to control another load, ie as an intermediate switch.
